A womans body is amazing. You were creating a human for 9 months in your belly. Please do not worry about those comments. It is natural for women to gain weight during pregnancy, and maintain it after pregnancy. Just remember - you are amazing! Lots of LOVE for your growing family from Latvia ❤

Maintaining it is not 'normal' or a necessity, though. That can be worked off. With her eating habits and metabolism, she'll look just like before in less time than you think :)

Lara Cantos Yes, I agree. ;) But it is not something to worry or feel guilty about. I think that maintaining a little "Baby weight" is completely normal after giving birth. As I said - she just gave life to a person, it is amazing and all she should think about is their health, not about weight comments and other people judgemental thoughts. I like the fact you feel comfortable with speaking about getting an epidural. I am a nurse, not labor and delivery, but a nurse just the same. I think that the best birth plan is getting the baby out as safe as possible. Whether you choose natural birth, water birth, planned c-section, or emergency c-section, the plan is to have a safe delivery!! Congratulations on Isaiah!!!! My older sister has 4 boys and it is crazy, but I love my 4 nephews. All the best and may God bless you and all the best to your family.

What really upsets me is how could anyone dare to criticize your body when you were making a baby! A tiny human grew inside of you and for anybody to judge your appearance just disgusts me. Rachel you looked beautiful during and now after you pregnancy and were NEVER in any way fat! But I can relate to the stress, my first time I gained 34 pounds. I started at 115 and had never been above 120 in my life so seeing the scale tip up was a struggle. I managed to loose all of it over a couple of years but now we're pregnant with our second and I've decided I'm not even going to weigh myself or worry about how often I eat as long as I'm making healthy food choices. It's tough!

Congratulations Isaiah is beautiful. Please don't put pressure on yourself you look amazing, people can be so cruel. I think it's more unsettling when a Mom feels she has to be in tip top shape 2 minutes after giving birth. I had an epidural with each of my kids and I loved it!! :). Thanks for sharing your story.

People actually called you fat??? That's awful! I gained 50lbs with both my babes and still struggle with losing that. You look great, mama! Keep up he good work

Contractions ARE painful. For my 1st baby i asked for epidural 30mins after i got into the labour room. For my 2nd baby, i was more of a wussy. I was already 4cm dilated and had mild contractions but i asked for epidural straight away too. Haha. And where i come from, when epidural is being administered, the husband needs to go out of the room. So it is just you, the anaesthetist and the nurse. Nerve wrecking! Congrats to you and family!!

Sarah Cecilia you don't really need to wait until your rich to have a baby. Honestly, if you think k about it babies aren't that expensive. You technically feed them the milk you produce, you can use old fashioned cotton diapers that are reusable (just wash them and use them again), you can buy milk bottles and breast pimps at your local store for much cheaper and there is always second hand shops for baby clothes, a crib and so on. The truth is having a baby isn't expensive, parents are the ones who end up thinking that they need a whole lot of things in order to have a baby - the reality says otherwise.
