Bongabon is a municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija and is the leading producer of onion in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
It was recognized as the first capital of Nueva Ecija because it showed beauty, liveliness and the opportunity to grow. Bongabon continuously develops into a 2nd class municipality awarded with the "Seal of Good Local Governance", and is known as Child Friendly Municipality.
It is also surrounded by the Sierra Madre mountain range and is popular for its twin peak named "Mount Labi".
Mount Labi is abundant in rivers and waterfalls where fresh water is naturally sourced. One of its most sought ecotourism attractions is a free-flowing river which embodies makeshift pools made from giant stones surrounding its water-"Labi River".
