In a fusion of high jewellery and contemporary art, Bvlgari and Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli have created a magnificent sculpture: a brass-shelled tortoise adorned with precious stones, entitled Tortue de Soirée. The beautifully polished shell, studded with nine ancient Greek silver coins, gleams with tumbles of amethysts and 1,500 carats’ worth of precious gems. Under Creative Director Lucia Silvestri’s guidance, the stunning, bejewelled masterpiece represents over 530 hours of passion and skill put in by Bulgari’s artisans.
