La Seine (French) Lyrics & Translation

Музыка

~ Attivate i sottotitoli per la traduzione in ITALIANO!
Well, yes, this is admittedly not of the most popular or known of movies. Still, seeing the not irrelevant success of this song, I’ve always been kind of surprised not to see even a single video translating it. Though, to be honest, it took me quite a while before making my mind up and go on editing mine.
*1:09 / 1:17 - “La scène”: the words “Seine” and “scène” are pronounced exactly the same way. I happened to find some lyrics reporting this variant for those lines, and since they seemed to make sense, I opted for this alternative. Still, remember, they could be singing “la Seine”, instead.

I like both if you really think about it it makes sense to change the lyrics because at some parts the translation would be hard to keep in beat and some things just don't translate well like I can't remember what the joke is but there's a German joke that doesn't translate well it's just not funny in English so maybe the French lyrics didn't translate well

Yup, you're right, and that's how French is the most beautiful language in the world: it allows for much more plays on words, double meanings and deeper meanings even, and that's useful for numerous situations when done right, my favorite being when you make a fool out of someone and their non understand French language asses walk right into the trap and make Fools out of themselves. So yeah, keep it up, it's always a great bonus to know French.

@@jean-Pierre-bt8xw Now that's à reply I had forgotten that I made. And for anyone's understanding, I'll write it in English, but idk for sure if you're French too, the username would suggest it being the case, but yk, until we know for sure, there might be a chance for it to just be the English way/accent to pronounce the name. Anyway, true, French has à lot of double meaning for a lot of words, and English might have more words than French, but let's not forget that 29% of the usual English vocabulary is of French origin, and I'll add that à good part of them have English equivalents that can still be used, so no, we honestly can't say they've been forced down native English speakers' throats if they simply decide to keep them around as alternatives. So only a third of what remains after taking those out makes the number of English words go over the number of French words. And that example might show the absurdity your point is about, but I don't think it would be common in sentences like that, told in whatever context would fit, to use it for the wine glass, same for the montgolfière, I've never heard or read it used for jail in my 23 years on the planet, and giving the meaning of an expression to one of its words doesn't seem right, so only maybe 3 or 4 examples you gave still apply here

Broooo this was my CHILDHOOD I can’t believe I got this in my recommended. I remember annoying my family playing this movie on LOOP with the dvd. I would keep it in a certain place where I knew it would be and I knew every line song and I tried to pronounce the random French. I love this movie and hearing this in French for the first time is awesome it sounds great!

I’m pretty sure this movie counts as a “B-movie” but it is one of my top favorite movies! I originally discovered this movie at a RedBox, I later saw it on DVD at Target(tho I never bought it, big oof on my part) and now it was recently recommended to me on YT movies free with ads. I took advantage of that and rewatched it quite a few times…. It’s unironically entertaining and was done really well! Not to mention that the English version has Sean Lennon playing Francoeur, and they kept the same French actress/singer to play Lucille in English! Such a great movie!

The reason why it changes from La Seine (which is a river in France) to la scène (the stage) is because while her song is originally about the river, the monster is talking about about Lucille, the angel on stage.
