LA is Wet | Cox n Crendor In the Morning Podcast: Episode 415

Комедия

The boys are back and this time Jesse is soaking wet, moist, damp even. Los Angles is hit by a week long storm and he's over it. Meanwhile Crendor needs new tires and it becomes a whole car repair thing. Also, what's the deal with older people who subtweet - but in real life? You know what I mean. They complain, but to no one. And then BREAKFAST BEER! That's gotta be a thing right? All that and so much more on a brand new Cox n' Crendor!

Apparently, LA normally gets 14.25 inches of rain per year. Roughly evenly distributed from December to March. So far, you've had 12 inches in 37 days.

Yay they finally did Alaska! Jessie for your question about why to live here: As Crendor guessed! I was born there. Don't live there anymore actually. for reasons you may have guessed. It's a big tourism hot spot since its positioned on the Kenai River which is where some of the best Salmon fishing in Alaska can be had. That is also why breakfast is so common because people get up early to go fishing. Pizza Boys is the oldest Pizza place in town. But St. Elias Brewing Company is great!

Jesse, they make it as awkward as possible because like Crendor said, "He's probably done it before and it worked". He has and it did so he continues to do it. We lived on the street, and know the type. Not all on the street are into harassing people for money, but there are those that do and they know the tactics to make people uncomfortable because uncomfortable people will hand over cash to make it go away

the social anxiety is real haha I'm such a non-confrontational person, if someone gets my order wrong I'll often just eat it because I don't want to bother them by correcting it one time I was on a bus and pulled the stop too early accidentally, and instead of speaking up I just got off and had to walk an extra 4 blocks for absolutely no reason I can't even fathom the people that just loudly complain or correct people, it couldn't be me

Regarding Jesse's hood ornament story, I remember many years ago my mom had to get her winshield replaced and went to a major glass repair place. They charged $200 for it, so she kept looking and found a mobile glass repair business that charged $25. It was literally a father and son team in a beat up pick up truck. The father got out of the pick up truck and immediately got to work prying off the winshield with a razor blade while the son got out the new windshield and prepped it for installation. The father then put the razor blade IN HIS MOUTH and pushed the winshield in with his son's help and sealed it. That winshield stayed in place for several years more until my mom got a new car. Car servicing is weird

So in my town in Central CA (north of Fresno), for about a year, before they got shut down, there was a Bikini Barista stand called Double Shot and it was directly across the street from a high school. The logo was 2 coffee cups and a set of lips above them. It was packed both before and after school. Lines down the street of dads and teenage boys. Before they got shut down, I assume they made a killing lol.

Jesse, Age of Sigmar (AoS) and The Old World (TOW) are different settings with different lore. TOW is the setting of Warhammer: Total War. It went through an apocalypse, from which AoS arose, with some old units now fighting for new faction in a new setting, thousands of years later. Vibe-wise, TOW is dirty fantasy Renaissance, and AoS is Mortal Kombat + Marvel's Thor + heavy metal album covers. Players kept whining that TOW was better, so GW eventually re-released it, with basically the same old rules (different from AoS, which was made for new audiences). You can use some AoS models there, but not all (like you can't play, say, pandaren in Classic WoW).

21:40 yes, that's how warranty works - you only get the specific issue fixed because it would cost extra for the dealer to fix anything else that isn't an issue yet etc. If you just want a fixed monthly payment - get a lease with maintenance included. Unless you happen to have found a good repair shop, then it makes sense to own a car. Maybe.

13:16 I'm not really sure what Jesse is getting at here, because honestly this doesn't sound good. People aren't homeless because they aren't willing to do what's needed to get off the streets. People aren't homeless because they're rather spend money on drugs than on somewhere to live. I hope this just came across poorly and that isn't what Jesse actually thinks. There are a myriad of reasons as to why someone has ended up homeless and it can happen to someone far more easily than you might imagine, esp. if you're living somewhere where they can't get the help they need. And trust me, THEY know how hard it is a lot better than you do, they're the ones living it.

I have to honestly say I had to fast forward through Cox talking about the homeless situation because I was getting mad at him. Speaking as someone who has dealt with both sides of that coin, there is still SO MUCH misconceptions and bs surrounding the homeless that it’s more maddening than listening to someone talk about migration. I totally understand when someone comes up to you and you KNOW just by the looks of them that they’re homeless and starts asking for money that, especially nowadays, we all just don’t have, but think about it. How much do you SERIOUSLY think even street drugs and booze cost? Way more than even $10 bucks I can assure you. So Cox could’ve said “Sure man. Let me finish pumping my gas and we can go in there and grab you some stuff.” And got the guy (depending on the gas station. I’m in Ohio and we’re known for our many gas stations 😂) a couple of hot dogs, a bag of chips and a warm coffee for less than what I bet he spent at Starbucks on ONE drink. Every KZreadr/social media person especially should want to genuinely help the homeless in their areas because unless you are outside of the average American which does NOT have a savings account that, should anything happen, has enough money to sustain their entire family for at least a year as well as FAT main bank account, you are more than likely surviving on paycheck to paycheck. People who live like that are literally ONE paycheck (less than a week if you get paid weekly and 10 days if you get paid bi weekly) away from becoming homeless. And guys, every single man is at the BOTTOM of the totem pole when it comes to the homeless. I don’t mean you have to fight off other homeless people. That would be a genuine blessing. No, we are the LAST to be added to ALL lists for shelters, soup lines, and any government program. White men are at the VERY bottom, brown men are above white men and black men are above brown. Your place only gets bumped slightly if you have kids with you. But, if you have a woman and kids with you, you personally will get bumped down but the woman will get placed WAY ahead of you because she’s a woman and slightly more ahead because she’s got kids. It sucks and pretty much nobody likes it but it is the truth. That’s why you’ll see more homeless men of every age past 18 on the streets than you’ll see women and children. So don’t think that homeless people are homeless because A. They chose to be, B. They drug addicts/boozers, C. They’re mentally unstable or D. They’re ex cons. If you combined all of these together, statistically, they don’t even make a dent to the overall numbers of the homeless population in all of the US. And more than half of each of those numbers are actually not the CAUSE of them being homeless but are the EFFECTS of them being homeless. Think about it this way: It’s the day before your rent is due, you lost your job over a week ago, your family has their own shit to deal with and you don’t want to burden them with even more, all your bills are past due and you had to get surgery for a minor issue and now you’ve got medical bills out the door. Are you happy or are you majorly depressed and freaking out? 9.9 out of 10 says you’re freaking the fuck out. That feeling is EVERY DAY AND NIGHT for the majority of homeless people. And that exact situation is pretty much how the majority end up homeless. Another very common one is hospitals, hospices, and prisons releasing their mentally unstable patients (and yes, prisons do have patients) with zero support or access to care once their bill/time is up. There was even a few news broadcasts where hospitals were having their security guards escort patients, especially elderly ones, outside and literally dumping them onto the sidewalk that is outside their legal property. Even if they were unable to walk or even breath without a tank (and no, they did NOT give them a tank. When I said dumped I mean they DUMPED these human beings onto the cold, hard ground.) So, please, next time you see a homeless person, don’t act like that can’t be you within less than a years time. Don’t act like they’re dangerous when every human being is dangerous. Don’t act like they’re not humans too and not gutter trash you have to avoid stepping on. Just buy them a cheap snack and a cup of coffee from speedway, keep the receipt, mark if off as a charitable donation if you can, and be a decent human being. And if you’re religious at all and believe in god, you BETTER take care of the homeless no matter what. God LITERALLY said exactly that in the Bible. Those that didn’t, he KILLED THEM. Read the Bible for once religious people 😂 and practice what god has TOLD YOU to practice.
