He doesn't step down, because "there's still a lot of work, to be done"... he doesn't step down, because he doesn't want to lose that power, paycheck, and all of the perks that come with being a council member. The truth of the matter is, he said what he said; he didn't step up, to be the voice that he should have been. He talks about the minority being a community that is marginalized... he did a disservice to this community, by not defending us when Nury said what she said. He chimed in, on the racial conversation and even laughed. People show their true colors when they're behind closed doors; they were just caught and that's what they are sorry for. He needs to step down and resign; the same people that voted him into office, want him OUT! There's no tolerance, for racism; or people who don't defend their constituents, especially when you're supposed to represent their voice, it would be a disservice to continue having him in that seat. I am part of the Latino community, and I don't support Kevin's actions.

It wouldn't sit well with a Latino community who will not be eagerly responsive to politicians unfamiliar with Latino culture. Let's face it, Martinez and her three "amigos" were outmaneuvered by some very clever individuals for political reasons right before the midterm elections. Magnificently planned and politically motivated with the sole purpose of diminishing Latino influence in city affairs. The three amigos and Martinez were outdo by political rivals in the local government who were just as eager to gain power and dominance within the city government. Gerrymandering was at stake, the redrawing of city boundary lines that could benefit one sector of the city council over the other. All these talks about forming a coalition among all the races representing the city are just that...empty words deliver by a bunch of politicians. Can there be any trust among these politicians after this comedy? NONE! It is obvious, someone paid someone to have the room bugged, they were spying on each other, a case of "Watergate" all over again. A recording that was held for nearly a year before being released to the general public is an indication that certain politicians within the city government were well aware beforehand of the contents of the recordings but deliberately did not made them public until right before election time. The series of events that have followed the release of these recordings is just a show put on by city officials to distort the real reason these tapes were made available. Nothing to do with racists comments and EVERYTHING to do with the redrawing of the districts. Politicians can't fool anyone anymore. They are all cut by the same pair of scissors.
