Cecilia reminds us that we people have senses and emotions. She feels the music with every particle of her not only physical but also spiritual body and she also presents the music that way. Without any restrictions the resonance flows through her. She reminds us of the beauty of the Infinite. Thank you Cecilia to help people to get rid of their fear of seeing emotions fully expressed let it be by the music, face, body language...

I don't think you people understand this aria at all! It is an attempt by Don Juan (Giovanni) to seduce an "innocent" young bride, and is supposed to be exaggerated for amusing effect. Bartolli expresses the spirit of the piece perfectly, in voice, face and movement while Hampson looks as though he has no idea what is going on, and would rather be anywhere else. Watch Bartolli and Terfel, to see how it should be done.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes personally I love cecilia this is not based on great technical knowledge but what pleases the ear and unfortunately some comments about her and others just continue to perpetuate the snobbery associated with opera. Everyone has a right to enjoy what they like and bitchy comments that she is surprised at her rapturous reception because she knows she is not as good as others is totally unfounded.

We all know of Bartolis humour and presentation - she is a consumate stage presence, whether it be sad joyful or angry. To be fair lets forgive Hampson for not having that extrovertness of the Italians - after all he is not Italian, but insted lets listen to his wonderful voice - he did make an effort to warm up to the part later in the aria.

Zo mooi
Cecilia, cecilia, why are you so magnificent?
Don Giovanni: Viens, mon bel amour ! Zerlina: Masetto me fait pitié !
D'accordo 100%
Everyone has their likes and dislikes personally I love cecilia this is not based on great technical knowledge but what pleases the ear and unfortunately some comments about her and others just continue to perpetuate the snobbery associated with opera. Everyone has a right to enjoy what they like and bitchy comments that she is surprised at her rapturous reception because she knows she is not as good as others is totally unfounded.
minchia che espressività, questa! Da paura!
"Cecilia Bartoli and Thomas Hampson performing a beautiful arrangement of this famous song." What arrangement? This is how it is written. Famous song? Famous, yes, but it is a duet!
👍🌹🌹
Mozart tunes are incomparable.
Maybe Cecilia Bartoli's voice too much "baroque", but I like this rendition!
Cecilia is great also with Terfel!
Interessante
Ramy and Upshaw!!!!
well, they both do make funny faces.
Assolutamente. Da dimenticare subito.
Bravo Hampson! This is the way to stop the singers showing off on stage instead of singing! If you leave Bartoli without the opportunity to move, only with "singing" - everybody will hear that she is not able to sing "legato" 2 notes. The great lesson for everyone!
They sing it beautifully, but they could learn a lot about how to interact with each other from Anna Netrebko and Bo Skovhus. Very enjoyable performance.
@xdmatthew me too!
@kneelandpray1 Your point being? The part was written for a baritone/bass after all :/
The opera version of ‘guitar face’.
... and yes, I know I've misspelled Bartoli, mea culpa.
@THEMAN200711 because you know why. ladies first!
Where & when was that played?
