    Thanks for the helpful video. Would you have a product number or link to that exact sump plug with the Neodymium magnet? There are plenty of magnetic M18 x 1.5 plugs but none that I can find in that short length with a decent depth of hex head on it.

    Have you got a video on Diff centre replacement? Is it easy to do yourself?

  • @YepThatsIt

    @YepThatsIt

    Жыл бұрын

    hi, no video yet. wash it all off first. then pull out axles and centre should come out. if diff is full of metal it may be good idea to run it with solvent a couple times on stands to clean out axle tubes before you replace it. cheers

    the oil capacities listed seem incorrect , as my rear diff says 1.8l , but when I drained it 3l came out & I refilled to the refill plug was 4l , advice on oil capacities - diffs & manual transmission & transfer case , thank u

  • @YepThatsIt

    hi, that is why you refill and check according to fluid/oil levels as recommended. the amount that comes out is only a guide ( incase someone under or overfilled or there are leaks ) so many variations out there it is often different to what actually is needed as you have found out. cheers

    hi, they have had over 100 years experience designing. now they deliberately have a thing where they design a component to fail at 50-100% after warranty. designed obsolescence. regular maintenance and replace the engine cooler every 100,000km or install a remote filter in its place ( see vids ) to help eliminate premature blockage of the eng oil flow. cheers

    Provent Oil Catch Cans do a great job of catching the Oil mist, but I can see the owner of this Triton is not keeping up with maintenance on the Catch Can it needs to be drained regularly and filter element replaced every 40,000 km max.

  • @YepThatsIt

    @YepThatsIt

    2 жыл бұрын

    hi,yeah the owner was just draining it once a month, not taking cap off. in winter metal sweats out moisture as well as it heats up, adding to the issue. you cant beat regular maintenance. cheers

    If that's a LSD diff then it's stuffed, that is an open diff, if the wheels spin in opposite directions to each other its a open or standard diff when you try to spin one wheel & it spins in the same direction then its a LSD diff.
