Ryuji Goda, to me, is the best antagonist out of all the original games 0 - 6. I even loved how in 0 we got to meet him as a young scrapper already terrorizing people.

Yeah, he was super badass, had this mega-strong aura around him, too bad he was hurt by nonsense plot of y2 and died for nothing, lol. Overall, for me it will be difficult for anyone to ever top Kuze in this spot tbh.

Ryuji is one of the best characters in Yakuza. His purpose isn't to be an antagonist to Kiryu, rather him and Kiryu are rivals with both being symbolized as Dragons but as Kiryu said in Y0 "There can be only one dragon."

Okay, the first fight with Ryuji is a banger. Never wanted to beat someone's face this much, but after finding the truth at the end of the game... It was agonizing. Still not as much like replaying 0 after finishing Kiwami.

I actually really love this fight and intro. It's SUPER spontaneous feeling for someone who you know is gonna be the final boss to just initiate a fight with you right off the bat near the beginning of the game

Goda is so fucking cool that he gets guitar rifts to back him up

The beginning of this ost was giving me some serious mr shakedown vibes

I know I'd get my ass kicked, but if i get into a fight, I want me and the person i am fighting to circle eachother. That was one of the most badass moments in Kiwami 2

I remember this fight being so hard for me I had to quit, lower the difficulty, and do the whole long battle over again. Now I can beat Ryuji on Legend and only get hit, like, 2 times.

JPgamerTV you can do it man, but when you get to it watch out for shibusawa, he can be pretty tough. Also look out for the section before when you’re heading up towards him, there’s a lot of enemies with guns who can kill you very quickly

@@jaypostromboli-jpgamertv-457 I had to do like 5 retries using the few weapons I had to defeat him the first time, then I though he would be practically invincible at the end so I prepare a lot (Level up life heat and defense and I bought the entire farmacy) and when the final fight happend I wipe the floor with him.

This is like the perfect wrestling intro music which fits Ryuji Goda I suppose.

Yakuza 0 was the peak of the writing team behind the stories tbh. One of the greatest and most well rounded stories I've ever come across in media. It has the hype moments, the criminal and political intrigue of Yakuza dealings, heartfelt, sad, happy, funny, melancholic, it has it all. Everyone I recommend the series to never actually tries it out smh. They're missing out on some of the greatest games currently available

Me: *getting something out of my dog's mouth* How it was explained in the story:

This dynamic intro goes so hard, even if it's literally just Kiryu and Ryuji circling each other.

If I had a dime for everytime a Character named Ryuji became one of my favorites of their respective franchises, I would have at least 3 dimes but it's awesome it happened Thrice

I wish they remade all the music from OG Yakuza 2 like they did for Kiwami. Imagine how awesome a new version of 'Evil Itself' or 'North Menace' would be

The first ryuji fight destroyed me at least 10 times on my first run. The combat was so different from Kiwami 1 and 0 that I was getting destroyed and didn't realize how to beat difficult foes yet

if anyone musically inclined would have the time to maybe explain how and where (and if because I’m not sure if it bears similarities) this song and his other theme “a scattered, eternal moment” share anything similar? do ryuji’s themes make sense when put together, or not so much?

This is one of the few remixes that met my expectations, but I still prefer the original one. That raspy intro guitar riff of the original is unbeatable in my opinion.

Ryuji and Nishiki are essentially the opposites of Kiryu. Kiryu is powerful but content, Ryuji strives to be number 1 and is jealous of his father and Kiryu - he believes that power rules over all and hates the idea of solving issues with negotiation. Nishiki was a similar case, he wanted to be just like Kiryu but found that he didn't have the weight for it - when his sister dies, he feels powerless and ashamed since everyone walked over him, he begins to hate Kiryu and aims to exceed him by taking over the whole family and showing everyone that he is important

So far I've played 0, kiwami, and kiwami 2, and i love how these games end with a dragon vs dragon fight. In 0, shibusawa was the dragon kiryu was destinded to become. In kiwami, kiryu was the last obstacle for nishikiyama to finally become a dragon but he failed. Ryuji and kiryu are both already dragons, but fate pushes them to see who is the better one

In Yakuza 1? Okay, why not. But in Kiwami with Zero added, what are you smoking? Ryuji does make an interesting antagonist that didn't need a prequel a decade after his introduction in 1. That I agree with. But Nishiki is better if you consider Zero and Kiwami 1's added cutscenes.
