炎魔（Balrog）是火焰与阴影中的恶魔。炎魔力量强悍，恐怖非常！
炎魔隶属迈雅一族--维拉的仆从，本是世界之初为米尔寇腐化的火焰灾灵。
炎魔身居魔苟斯用于祸害中洲的乌图姆诺和安格班之内。要塞被毁于维拉的众神之战后，一些炎魔藏入地底的洞穴，等待魔苟斯从囚禁中归来。
