It's my first time participating in L'ETAPE event. The event was well organized, plenty of marshalls, road closure was good, at least for me.
And then it rain, heavy downpour, everyone was literally soak! Great experience though.
It's also my first time cycling in Melaka, from the town to the suburbs, nice kampung area and the tarmac was good!
As usual, we'll try to hitch on a peloton if there's any. Found my first peloton but these guys were fast!! Easily averaging 41-42km/h, I have to slow down eventually after the first mini climb as my heart rate was hovering 190! Luckily I manage to find another peloton and this time we were cruising around 35km/h which I can follow.
From the water station, all the way back to town, nice pace, great cruising speed but then upon reaching the town, the rain continues.
Overall, I had fun, great event, looking forward to join another L'ETAPE event!
