I hope this was one of his works he didn't like doing. I wasn't a fan of the message it sent. He should have had a 'come to Jesus' moment, got his demons under control, married the student and raised her baby with her, and thought their child was the greatest thing that he never knew he wanted. Sure, her boyfriend was the 'safer' option, but he probably wouldn't grow beyond what he was. He wouldn't 'man up' when he needed to, because he felt comfortable with his 'nice' personality. It was Daniil Strakhov's character who had the potential for growth. Hope and transformation. That's what the message should have been. Blaming a young girl for a bunch of people deciding to give up hope and kill themselves because of a transpiring of events beyond her control isn't a 'wow' ending.
