L.A. Style Avenue - Cities Skylines: Riverton Bay - 02

Ойындар

The idea of Riverton Bay is to create a city that looks and feels big. It is set on an island to limit the amount of space, thus making it possible to do heavy detailing.

How much Trash there is depends on the city, a-lot of cities in the US have a very low budget that is why they usually have more garbage and abandoned buildings. I live in Billings Montana and my city is very clean.

And a good portion of the time it also is based on how the DOT is managed. Sadly, LA has a DOT that is busy with road maintenance that general trash and minor damage is very common versus parts of Idaho or areas of Montana.

Awesome build! I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and this is pretty on point for that area too. Grass areas are appropriate - concrete costs money, so areas at the edge of lots or in between private land and public roads is usually left as is. And yes, lots of trash (embarrassing, but true). Like those areas that slope down to the metro tracks would be full of junk. Also you could more parking, especially all along the fronts of buildings - nobody walks in suburban America. Looking forward to more!

I absolutely love how you build and create such a realistic city. Your attention to detail is second to none. It is absolutely amazing! My only criticism would be just break down the videos with a couple of time lapses and some music. 20 minutes is perfect, but for yourself 20 minutes of complete talking can be a lot for both you as a content creator but also for your audience. It takes away from your cities Skylines creations. I love the videos i really do. But i do find I’m missing out on bits of the video because I’m concentrating on what you are saying and then times I’m having to rewind the video to listen again to something you have said as I was concentrating on the video. But its all positive man. I am in awe of your creative talent.

Absolutely amazing. I love the realism in this map. The homeless' corner is well invented and could be much bigger, a block or street long area such as the one in LA (Skid Row). More of those ethnic districts could be built such as Hispanic communities or Koreatowns. Most of the Cities skylines youtube channels miss all the possible churches and religious sights. A) they bring American society into life (which is much more religious than European) and B) they represent well each ethnic community in a metropolis

I'd like to see a run down large park in this area probably on this avenue and would take up multiple blocks worth of space. With like basketball hoops, pool that may or may not be used, a community center or senior center in it, etc. Most likely an area like this would have been a good nice place to live with a large park like this and then just got run down over time with like white flight or something to the suburbs. The area/neighborhood would probably be named after the park as well.

Lots of fences. If you are using fence networks and power lines you might want to be careful of the network limit. If it rally comes down to an issue of reaching the prop limit, you can always download procedural objects and convert some props in to PO as that has it's own limit that doesn't count towards the prop limit. For video length, I don't mind if they are 15 minutes or 35 to 40 minutes. I watch the time lapses at 2x speed, so it's only really 20 minutes of my time

Open grass areas or "alleys" aren't all that uncommon. It should be either or. You definitely find both. Anytime that comes up, just go with what looks right at the time. Either is totally accurate to what you may find in a real American city. Also, when it's grass sometimes it's well kept - mowed, cleared of trash, etc - and sometimes it's overgrown and occasionally strewn with trash. It just depends. Just go with whatever feels right in the moment. *EDIT: the garage at the back is common in some places, Southern California in particular. They pull into their driveway or garage from an alley behind rather than the street out front. Something to keep in mind for future builds. *EDIT 2: Also, can you point me to the billboards you used?
