L.A. Sanitation East Valley District: The Diesel “Baby Trucks”

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The infamous 2000-2001 Diesel Mini Amreps that once roamed the City of L.A. until their complete extinction in 2020. All these trucks when first purchased, were stand up drive and then later down the line, the seat was added. These were mainly used in tight areas where the bigger trucks couldn’t fit. For example: alleyways, cul de sacs, condo complexes, tight streets in the hills of L.A., etc. I grew up seeing these trucks all over and I even had a few of them come and collect my street back in my early years. I’ve always been a huge fan of these little beasts.
So here we have all the ones that were still running in the East Valley District of L.A. from 2015-2020. I was lucky enough to film all of the ones that we had remaining and they’re all in this video in numerical order.
A huge thanks to all the drivers featured for making this video possible! Please enjoy this video as it took many years to complete! Thank you for watching everyone!
For anyone who cares, here’s the truck numbers (in order of appearance):
37188
37264
37265
37277
37282
Filmed: August 2015 - November 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Great video Kevin, great to finally see a video dedicated to these out of East Valley. Sure do wish the 00 and 01’s full sizes lasted as long as these minis did. That manual packing on 188 was definitely a treat I wasn’t expecting. Glad you were able to catch 264 that one time, that thing is violent as hell. It’s definitely one of the underrated minis out of the 21 that LA had during that time period. 265 was always cool, I remember watching Sean and Mikes videos of it wayyyy back then. Still looked and operated like a beast in its last years. Let’s not forget 277, I know you had multiple attempts to get a full video of that truck. You finally lucked out with Rios running it. The small revs he was giving it was fun to watch too. Glad I made it down there to film that truck when David ran it too. 282 reminds me of 182. I love how it didn’t have the water catch under the tailgate, very classic look. That matched with the keep LA beautiful signboard make the truck visibly appealing. Wish we had a time machine lol, definitely would like to relive all of this again knowing the things we do now. Great video! Can’t wait to see your other old truck compilations.
