I've watched hundreds of Renactions- I've never seen a reactor visibly as shell-shocked as you from start to finish lol (even though we all Feel it on our first watch). Loved all that you said after. Yes, Ren is Very special - I call him Archangel Ren - Warrior of Light - he's most definitely a celestial being /not of this earthly plan- he is gifted in every conceivable way including being such a humble, generous human being - he has a lot to teach the world

You just discovered a "one of a kind artist" who was born for the stage! KZ was using an "effect" in the beginning, to lure the audience in. In regards to how "tight" the band sounded, their time practicing with each singer is quite limited. They are just solid, but, KZ is just "connected" and always does an amazing job "feeding off" of the band. Besides KZ's singing, rapping and amazing showmanship, she actually arranged that song (as she does most of her songs)! Great reaction! Please continue to react to the rest of KZ's Singer 2018 performances. She performed a total of 8 times on the show and every one was EPIC! Check out KZ's cover of "Royals" next....you won't believe what she did to that song :)

She is rapping in tagalog, a Pilipino language.... as always she is arranging her song to her own version. KZ is Asia's Soul Supreme with incredibly unique talent...subbed.

Loved your reaction and yes, KZ is amazing. I stumbled onto her when listening to Jessie J on the Singer 2018 competition. The rap was Filipino although she sang a mashup in Mandarin during the competition and she won the week with this performance. I'd recommend you look into more of the Singer 2018 competition for some amazing music. Since you mentioned Angelina Jordan being the only one you know of who can pull off great covers from great artists, you should definitely check out Jessie J from the Singer 2018 competition. She slayed a number of covers as well as performing 3 of her own songs. My order of preference is Prince's Purple Rain, Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On & Killing Me Softly (Roberta Flack and The Fugees) though all her performances were amazing. Definitely do more KZ and give Bang Bang a try from the Singer 2018. She performs it with Jessie J and Coco Lee.

Jennifer, she completely turned this song inside out of Adele. Her version of "Royals" is turned upside down with English rap, but what I really like is her love song of "SAY SOMETHING " it was the most beautiful version of the song that in my humble opinion quash the original version of it and the people who wrote the song that got an award for they said it's the version they would have wanted of the song.

I love KZ. She arranges all of her songs. Her rap here was Tagalog (Philippines). The autotune section in the beginning was her stylistic choice. You'll note the murky blue lighting when she had it on, and I think she's supposed to be underwater. The autotune sound plays off the acoustic guitar really, really well, too. Love it, personally. She was born for the stage. Her stage presence is something else. I highly recommend pretty much all of her performances from The Singer 2018. Her Wish Bus performance of this song is also fun to compare to this one, as it is a bit different.

@@TheSpeakEasyLounge Thanks! Oh I get it 100% Most reactors comment about autotune (and I suppose understandably) and then she turns it off and wins them over haha. I liked the autotune choice, though, myself, but I guess only settled on how I understood it recently. I don't think KZ herself has ever mentioned her artistic reasoning for it. You might enjoy others of her performances. She's something else.

The show was "Singer", if you use that and KZ it should bring all those performances up - same as you may have done for Dimash, who also hit the worlds stage on the show. Yup, I really like it when artists bring a whole new arrangement to well known songs, it makes them fresh again and often bring out nuances that the original may not have. Another example being Ella Henderson's version of Cher's "Believe" - kzread.info/dash/bejne/fX-f1s56gZfefKQ.html - If you like Cher, you may like to do that as a reaction.

I read at a small concert of her's back in 2019 in a small filipino community hall in Toronto. During the concert they asked her to read off a list of concert sponsors ... Instead of just reading the list she got the band to play a hip hop backing beat and she rapped a 30 second or so funny name rhyming verse for each of the 20 or so sponsors. BTW, It's not really 'autotune', it's a special mic she uses at times that had some 'vocoding' effects (ie. Instead of 'tuning' her voice it's more like a modified 'Peter Frampton' effect that uses the mic to create the 'envelope' effect on her voice ... It's more of a live effect that save controls with her mic and voice than an autotune' which has far less 'artistic control'! But I can see why some people are confused ... This song was my first introduction to get as well and it threw me for the first few notes as well, as it certainly starts off sounds like autotune'.

Maam kz is Filipino and she rap Tagalog.
