Kyushu's Quiet Castle Town - Obi, Miyazaki! / スロートラベルで飫肥に行こう

In this episode, Nick takes the slow train to the quiet castle town of Obi in Miyazaki. The journey begins aboard the "36 Plus 3 - Around Kyushu Express" and wait until you see the interior! Once in Obi, known for its many well-preserved Edo-era residences, soaring high cedars, and historic castle ruins, it felt like we'd experience a time slip. One of the highlights was our stay at Akane-sasu Obi, a beautifully renovated historic Edo-era villa; there's no better way to experience Obi. But as much as we enjoyed seeing the sites, the locals' hospitality really stood out! In this video, we introduce a few, and we hope you'll also have a chance to experience this charming slow-travel destination sometime soon.

@@kyushulive If it's same time same station, I should be able to join you. Your videos are making me homesick for Kyushu. I love that train and shared the clip with a lot of friends.

Thanks for this. I lived in Sasebo in the 90s and miss that entire region every second of my day.

The people who have decided to live here have made great decisions. They can always touch the "wishing" tree any time, and know that all their dreams have already come true.
