No offence bud but have you been living under a rock? Some of the pioneers of modular synthesis - Suzanne Ciani, Klaus Schultze, Wendy Carlos, Georgio Moroder, Cluster, Kraftwerk etc.. - made incredibly beautiful and melodic music. I admit there is a massive trend for people to upload their modular bleeps and bloops to KZread but they're mostly fashion victims with a 'look Ma, I can make 1960s robot noises too..' mentality. A good rule of thumb when separating attention seeking youtubers from real musicians is looking them up on Discogs and seeing what they've actually put out over the years. Sadly social media is over saturated with people who want to fly before they learn to walk - ie not put the hours in with re to learning any basic music theory and just being content with uploading meandering jams which go nowhere and never see the light of day outside YT. Just my 2 cents anyhow..

Colin, there are no words to express how amazing this is. Even if I was completely ignorant about synths and modulars - and how hard it is to actually produce music with them in real-time -, I would still be blown up by the music. Keep it up mate!

Me talking about the importance of analogue: “You don’t understand how personal and intimate that performance is! For him to compose it, learn the instruments, arrange it, learn it, practice it, and then finally to PLAY (not recite) it is an experience that one rarely finds in a lifetime.” ... Does this mean I’m a hipster?

Jonathan Shapero anything can be done with a modular that big. That's the problem-- you can buy a 12 voice flagship polysynth for 3k these days-- a modular that's poly the same way (this video just does it through sequences and chords) would cost 10,20,30k

hahah you're welcome ;-) Serious note, I know my recent move to the realm of electronics might be a bit of a shocker for some who have been following my work for some time, I'll admit it has kept me up at night for quite a while. but what can I say, NOT doing this would really go against my nature. cant really explain, I just have to do this right now. I'm convinced it will all work out in the long run, who knows how this chapter will fit in my future projects (with or without orchestra). anyway thanks so much for giving it a chance, the fact that you went to look it up despite having every reason to just ignore it completely really means a lot to me!
