Kyrie Irving: Celtics Fans Have the RIGHT to Boo Me | Mavericks Postgame Interview

Спорт

BOSTON -- In the Celtics 138-110 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Kyrie Irving scored 19 points for Dallas but struggled with his shooting, going 9 of 23 from the field. Addressing the boos from Celtics fans, Irving said, "Rightfully so they have a right to boo and, you know, for my career record against them for the last few games I haven't won so until I beat them, they have all the right to continue to boo. I think that's what makes the theatrics of sports and competitive sports fun and just gotta embrace it. It's a part of it."

As another Celtics fan I completely agree his time in Boston was blown way out of proportion and u can see from the players opinions of him. Not only that i was at this game and he gave the crowd a wave and heart before the game started (his entrance into warmups which btw he didn’t even get a full warmup) unfortunately the media will never promote or show that. I think he deserve another ring before he retires and a good end to a legendary players career. In my opinion talent wise he’s one of the best to ever do it unfortunately his talent is overlooked due to injuries and drama

Kyrie, as a lifelong Celtics fan, I have not, and will not ever boo you. I love Celtics basketball... but love basketball 1st and you have contributed to this game. You have done amazing things off the court for families and individuals, that the media doesn't cover. On behalf of humanity, I'm sorry for all the negativity. Luckily, you already know life is bigger than basketball, so don't sweat it. ✌️ & ❤

It amazes me how people can apologize for Kyrie , as if he’s the victim. Maybe it’s because those people feel like victims in their own lives.. not judging, just objectively trying to evaluate why people don’t want to see what’s right in front of them. Kyrie has behaved like an entitled spoiled prima donna with no respect for the concept of “team” , his only concern for his own marketability as a showman for for the exclusive benefit of his own ego and bank acct. Now he’s matured ? Laughable. He’s got his bag, knows the talent on the Celtics is better than him .. the “kids” that he once treated condescendingly are now better than him, the Celtics organization that he symbolically stepped on to express his hatred is on record as giving the highest contract in NBA history to a black man, the same teammate who he refused to support and mentor. Leopards don’t change their spots. Kyrie is a unapologetic selfish self promoter who is now “acting” as though he’s mature because the competition who he once treated disrespectfully is now undeniably better than him, so he changes his “Schtick” to manipulate public opinion and maximize his brand.

Yes he has grown up A lot remember him from Cleveland he had the key 🔑 to the city but he wanted it all bu his self but LEBRON was the Man to and he didn't want to share it which that's how the game goes it's team ball. And him and LEBRON could have done magic for many more years and Cleveland. But I'm proud to see kyrie at this point of his life.

It’s the blatant disrespect that he showed to the Celtics franchise and City of Boston that will forever define his legacy there. He was a destructive presence in a passive aggressive way(refusing to attend the Conference finals to support his teammates) and overtly aggressively destructive by stomping on the logo mid court in a televised game and calling the City racist in order to demean the public perception of that great City. Kyrie is a self indulgent bad apple who happens to be an elite ball handler. Don’t confuse his elite basketball skills with being an elite basketball player which he is not. Basketball is a team game and Kyrie is and always will be a solo player, concerned first for his own numbers and bank acct.
