I didn't realize that the DM was responsible for the accurate tuning of instruments. Leaned something new today!

jrcigarful, the DM is the student leader of the Band. She is in charge of teaching the younger students the new routines and making sure that all know the music. If the Band Director is worth his salt, which he is, he has taught the DM and the other two students who are in line for the job, how to tune the band, warm them up, which is what they were doing with those long tones at the beginning of this video and to make sure that all is ready for the performance. The mouth is a muscle like the ones in the rest of the body and has to be warmed up before being used to play their respective instruments. How do I know this? I was a music major in college and I taught Jr High Band for many years. And yes, they are one of, if not the top High School bands in the world as far as I'm concerned.

@@gregorystevens875 yes, all is true. not to forget that weather conditions, playing inside a large or small room l can influence the instruments. Even batterheads on the toms/snare/bassdrum. Worst things is to play on instruments which are out of tune.

I did not miss watching them when they performed in Pasadena 2018..and the Gold Award in 2015,when miss Yui is there DM..

When the band was awarded Gold in 2015 the DM was Cony.
These young girls/boys never, ever cease to amaze me. They're so spectacular that I literally have no words to describe how amazing they are! There will never, ever be any bands dare I say throughout the world that will arise to this caliber of performance. Well done Kyoto Tachibana SHS marching band.
Thank you for the history of the band, I learned a lot. The band members ideas for the choreography and the ideas for songs is outstanding. Thay have made it a living thing with the ongoing changes. The ideas from them to make this the super band it is has worked out to be a masterpiece. They definitely know what they are doing. It has come from such a long time ago to where it is today. The 'Sing Sing Sing' song they do connected me to my Dads music. That is quite a feat, and they pulled it off. The whole presentation and performance is detailed in something not unlike an artist (which they are) painting a priceless picture. The experience from watching them perform is one I will never forget or get tired of.

ハロウィンステージの中でもお宝になる動画ですね。お目にかかれてうれしい限りです。 演奏前のロングトーンを初めて見ることができました。メンバー個々に声掛けする日下DMも組織を束ねる力を発揮、田中顧問のいない初年度をこれまで以上に愛されるバンドに築き上げましたね。キレのあるメンバーの姿がその証拠です。 パプリカさんありがとうございます。

パーカス隊はたくさん楽器の種類があるので、一人がいくつも担当するのでパーカス隊は全員がすべての楽器をできるように練習するんですよ！パレードは一人一人固定楽器ですが、こういった演奏会等では一人2～3つ担当するのです！

パプリカ 様 動画のアップありがとうございます。以前は ・・ 様でアップしていた方ですよね！数ある橘の動画の なかでも特にお気に入りの動画です。元気いっぱいのCGの子の人柄を垣間見ることができます。

人気の115、116期。この中からオービールズに入った子は10人以上います。 あのセンターでいつも笑顔のクラリネットの子に是非入って貰いたいのですが。
吹奏楽の演奏前の音合わせ？って、こういう風にするんですね。初めて見ました。興味深い動画です。

楽器と呼吸のチューニングとも言うべきロングトーンは吹奏楽の基本のキなんですね😍 長い場合20分以上も続けるそうです😍
KTSHS BAND is the Special Forces Branch of Brass....
Does anyone know the name of those 3 boys on Trumpet?? I think they're from class 115th. They went to Rose Parade 2018

吹奏楽では音合わせをＡじゃなくてＢ♭で合わせるのですね、どうしてもＡに聞こえないのでググって調べたらそういうことでした。あ橘さんとは関係ないコメですみません。

I guess because most of instruments used here are in key of Bb or Eb, and so matching Bb would be a bit faster.
How many musicians are replaced every year ?
