It was the same case in 2002 trying to get parts for the original Optima. A supplier in Germany was the only Guy at the time. He was the Grauppner Guy to go to. For a original Optima (RED) shocks were £160 plus delivery. We live in another great RC period!! Superb!

The turbo scorpion and the turbo optima are the best out of the legendary series re re’s!

There is something about these older buggies that I really like. The Tomahawk and the Scorpion look great.

Yep and the quality is fantastic

I got a 1982 Turbo Scorpion with my A Stamp Chassis RC10... One LUCKY gift!!! The Scorpion is about 95% complete, so that will be my keeper. Good Luck with the RC10s! They're great Classic Buggies. If you do box art... You might have the ONLY ones! These aren't Tamiya, and meant to be personalised. They're TOUGH, and I wouldn't worry about running them. 😉 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

I always had remembered, and I had, Novak esp’s and Reedy motors that made for a pretty good combination. I seem to recall back in the 80’s reading RC magazines that was one such combination even though Associated had motors I can’t remember if they made them early in that era or if they came later?

I had the Optima Mid SE when I was a kid, even had the JG truck wheel adapters on it to run it as a truck. Love it! I hope Kyosho re-releases the Optima Mid original.

Great decision to keep both Associated buggy’s!

The rc 10 is the one rc I have always regretted selling😟 a few years ago you could pick up one for absolute peanuts! How do people who are not on Facebook get a hold of the Rckicks merchandise? Looking forward to the up and coming videos👍 keep'em coming!

Nice projects love the RC10 stuff! lol but it's the Hornet that l have my eye on! Love all Hornets all versions! I have a Super Storm Dragon ordered! Gavin will you be getting one on your show?? Many think its pig ugly but l think its fantastic!!! Such charisma! Plus it's another Hornet lol that will do me!😁👍

Another great video gavin. can not weight for the next video mate. Going back to your vintage kyosho motors video you did. That 959 will be awesome! A non boxart more street-ish version would be cool with those wheels.

Cut wide of the lines on the penguin RC10 body & test fit. They are a little smaller than the originals.

The turbo scorpion kit is my next build.

The avante mk2, are you planning on adding some parts that bulletproof it a bit ? There are a few parts that helps with drivetrain durability for sure on the df03 chassis. Like one piece diff outdrives like the front for the rear end from gpm, 3 racing etc, slipper clutch if you plan on a sensored brushless kit in it or like a 2s lipo + a low turn brushed motor like a 15t on 2s or 3s lipo, perhaps yeah racing front cvd's as well.

Hi there. I'm a bit of a Optima Mid fan and have most of them in my collection You were saying how you got the wheels nice and white but the SE came with satin chrome wheels if you check the box art. They are out there but eye watering expensive.

Didn’t know that. The silver finish was destroyed on these rims so I’m happy to use them on another of my mids. That or I’ll try and match the silver and paint a set up.

@@RCKickschannel yes the satin chrome finish did not hold up well probably the reason they are hard to find these days everyone replacing them when restoring their SE's.

You should have a sales page..... unfinished projects you want to pass on etc.

Fab video as always! Curious as to the difference between say an Optima Mid/Turbo and a Javelin - are they basically identical aside from the bodies/cosmetics?

Hi Gavin, a quick question on the mid rims, do you just chuck them straight in bleach or is the bleach watered down? And how long do they stay in there? My rims are a bit discolored and yellowish thanks, keep up the great video's and stop making me want to buy more cars haha 😉🤙🤙

I love your intro, it looks really cool. But I can't quite understand the sound, though. Why not use the sound of a RC car accelerating away? Would suit the channel better, I think?

I agree with you but you don’t get good sounds from an electric RC car that can be used over music. The issue is the frequency is too high.

OMG - I paid $180 for an RC10 Worlds just a few years ago.
