I would love a video of suggested apps that work well for the Dura XV Extreme? I think you suggested a few in the video, like Niagara Launcher and a pointer mouse application. VLC and Signal look like other improvements, though you need to be creative to allow Signal to work on this kind of phone.

Yep. Developer options worked but no advanced feature area is present. The last thing on the list is reset shortcut.

Hey there - I just bought both of my kids these phones. Trying to understand how to get apps after setting up developer mode. Where do I go on the web to download these APK apps? I really need a location finder for the kiddos. Any recs?

Great review! I've been wanting to get a rugged flip phone without google services, not because of privacy, but because of distraction and trying to minimize my internet usage. The CAT S 22 sounds like the best option but it is full on Android. The Sonim XP3 Plus sounds like the best option with same RAM as your phone, but it has an Octacore processor which is blazing fast with a 2300mAh battery vs 1775 but using ADB on that phone might sound a bit of a problem to do so. I only need a few apps. I'm sure Google podcasts wouldn't work but that's okay. I think the main apps I need is Audible or something to remember where you left off on an audiobook, Telegram, Bible app which I see you also have, voice recorder and perhaps Edge Browser. For audiobooks I could use my mp3 player. Thanks again. What is Night Mode and how does your Niagara launcher look like? This phone is insane as it says online you can use a 512GB on it, that's definitely extreme!

Just got this phone, like it a lot. You should do a video on how to load "Voice to Text" for this phone. You would get a lot of views for that, me being one of them. Hard to understand whats out there on doing this and no videos that I can find.

Would it be possible to add a music app like pandora or Spotify?

At the moment i use apple music and i have a lot of music downloaded. Its been pretty difficult to find a phone that would support my music needs but with everything ive seen on this phone including the 500+ possible gb and the app downloading shown here it seems that this phone may be capable of what i need. Im wondering if in your opinion with your experience with the kyocera, would apple music work on the kyocera and would i be able to have the thousands of songs i have now? should i consider a different music app? could it even support that much music?

Now does it have messaging + or can you download it onto the phone?

@kytreasurehunter it doesn’t work, but thank you for showing how to install apps at first place.. call recording apps worked on the previous Kyocera e4610 phone (android 7) but it doesn’t work on the extreme, which runs android 9

@@zvell636 Yes like I mentioned not all apps are going to work since it is an older OS. Most apps I tried ran perfectly fine.

A few apps I have found won't work. Anything that requires Google play services will not work and some apps the phone just isn't fast enough to use. Its just trial and error. Good luck!

I would suggest APK mirror for apps. I am using USB from a PC.

Can you download any app through this?

Can Google search be added, and then used from voice command?

Try some different websites. I suggest APK mirror and moving them over with a USB

No most Google apps don't work
