Kyo is probably one of the best male tsunderes. Sure he is a bit mean with Tohru, but most of the time he scolds her for doing something that makes her too selfless or dumb lol.

I haven't read it but oh my gosh do I want too. I'm trying to stay non spoiled to go into every episode with an open mind.

Actually, some of the differences that you point out are just in the og anime. Kind of like filler, it's not really in the manga, whereas the reboot is closer to what's happening in the manga. For example, Yuki doesn't say what he's doing after school. But, you see so much of him in the OG anime that they probably felt the need to explain why he won't be there in that moment. Also, Kyo doesn't catch Tohru in the manga either. It goes to show how much he doesn't expect her to suddenly fall. And of course other things! There were quite a few things they added in the og anime lol! The reboot is doing such a good job of sticking with the manga content! I love it lol But of course, watching the og anime was a great experience as well.

I love how in the OG series kyo and yuki almost never expect tohru to fall on them where as in the new series they conveniently catch her almost as if they knew. To me them not knowing was more genuine but the reboot is doing the series justice.

I 100% AGREE!!!!!

And this is why Kyo is better for Tohru than anyone else. Everyone else still kind of expects Tohru to say what is really bothering on her own, rather than asking her and inviting her to express her true feelings, even her best friends.

I read the creator didn't like how they made the original fruits baskets too comedic. The remake is the true way the story is meant to be. More serious for sure but it makes the moments hit even harder

Kyo is still my favorite character and always will be I mean come on he's adorable! I really love over emotional tohru and cute momiji!! I love this series!

Kyo is such a hothead! He kinda reminds me of Inuyasha in many aspects. He doesn't fit in, he's called a monster and has lost his mother at a young age. And Tohru is a bit like Kagome minus the arguing. She's really sweet! And the scene when Kyo became a monster and she saved him is really just like the time when Inuyasha became a full demon for the first time! I so love the whole beauty and the beast vibe of those anime! So lovely!

I really recommend people watch the original series along with this remake. While the remake does a beautiful job, there are some elements to the original that are priceless. Especially the last few episodes with Kyo's story... that was done so beautifully. It deserves a watch if you're a huge fan and you haven't seen it yet.

Dont read this if you didn't read the manga(spoiler) Fun fact in the manga Yuki reveals that he loves Tohru as a mother but Kyo did eventually get Thoru in the end ❤Kyo x Tohru forever❤

Yuki never saw her as a love interest. Their wholesome moments being as a mother-son relationship only is better than a romantic one because Yuki never really felt his neither of his parent's warm and Tohru gave him that for the first time in his life. Having a loving mother was what he needed, just like in every child's growth, it is essential for their health to have that kind of mother who really acts on her role.

The first time I watched it I liked Yuki better because I thought Kyo was too hot headed. But now I'm totally team Kyo, can someone explain?

I saw every og anime episode read the and owned every manga issue when I was in high school myself. So I can say you descriptions are pretty on track to the mangaka's wishes. As for the baseball cap, well... that one I'll let you have fun with that~☆

What a lovely way to analyze this episode. You made a great job. I won't say anithing about the pairing beacuse I've read the manga and I know how will end but, have you noticed that the OG was too YukixTohru while the new one is more balanced, even more once reach the cementery episode? What I love about how they're doing the new one is, that you can see all the clues about the way of the story will go and, once you know about it and rewatch the episodes, you'll see them. Wonderful

Chrystel Baguinon Tsundere females are more common than males. Maybe you have seen a female and haven’t noticed. If you have seen Pokémon, which most people have, Misty is a female Tsundere. However, she is one of the few female tsunderes I like.

@@BriThi Oh well I'm sorry that your friend spoiled the hat story for you but I hope your still unaware of most of what will happen? Yeah like I love Yuki but Kyo x Tohru (despite having less scenes so far) just have a connection with eachother that's different from any bond Tohru currently has with the other characters (at least in my opinion). Yuki & Tohru are always sweet & kind to eachother but I don't think they get eachother as much as Tohru & Kyo. Like episode 24 was rough but it was also great in showing how sometimes caring for someone will be very hard but sometimes your going have to wade through the bad to really be able to be honest with eachother (like how you sometimes feel the closet to someone when you see them at thier worst or how the air can feel lighter after having an argument because you've finally got out what's been bothering you). Tohru was obviously asking Kyo to come home because she wanted to help him but I think it was also because she wanted to keep her friend & Kyo was the one who told her it's ok to be selfish & express your wants even if it's stuff other people don't always wanna hear he'll be there to except it. I can't believe how soon season one is going to end & I'm so excited for season two but sad about having to wait for it (which I know makes me a spoiled brat lol).

I love how you don't put the original down like some others so thanks so much in that regard, also for the ep of kyo (The next ep for the remake and ep 25 for the original) I perfer the original actually, all the extra scenes, the scenes with akito and UO and Hana was a real good bonus. I will say the ending part for the next ep of the remake was amazingly shot and was actually w bit better then the original. Thanks for reading y'all lmao

The remake 2019 story is more close to the mangas, all the Uo-chan and Akito stories on the episode 25 are not included in the manga! And that is because the 2001 story ends in that point whereas we will be able to see the whole story in the 2019 remake!

I agree I love the new version for getting the rest of the story in the anime, but I also think there were some things the original did really well to (aside from of course the terrible rushed ending but no one defends that).

I used to dislike Tohru in the beginning of the anime... now I almost cried seeing these scenes... Kyo being a tsundere is so cute! they need to be together!!!

Being a Kyo person really suck honestly. (For the Kyo one)

When thoru freaking out that she failed that was me in middle school and when I was in a university since math was really hard for me to pass.

Omg I'm so glad I found this video in my home page! I love Fruits Basket SO MUCH and always wondered why (2019) was beside the title but never really looked into it. But the fact that's it's an old anime and an even older manga makes me love it even more!!!! I also didn't think that I would sit here and hear someone bamble for 18 minutes but I can't go wrong with Fruits Basket! 😂😂😂 I love this anime so much I even think that it's change as a person 😆🤦🏻‍♀️ as silly as it may sound

when thoru ends up getting upset over one grade that's me when I failed many times in math or science or sometimes somethings in university since it can sometimes be way too stressful.😮‍💨😑
