As i said to people multiple times Italy had a midfield 3 with 2 being Veratti and Jorginho who have no legs slow as it gets. Instead of playing a midfield 3 to overpower them Southgate plays a back 5 with Phillips and Rice two defensive midfield types in the middle. He couldn't of tried harder to lose that final it was utterly disgraceful and pathetic negative tactics that cost us.

The problem with England is the lack of quality CBs. That's the reason he has to holding midfielders to cover for the shit defenders they have. ON PAPER. 1st problem is the inflation in PL. PL players AREN'T that good. I mean yes, they are the best in the world, but they are not 2 or 3 times better than everyone else. The price tags in England are ridiculous. I can hear you saying "Tell me something i don't know". 2nd one is game plan, which England doesn't have. For example Brazil plays skillful football, nordic countries plays a type of physical football (called North Football in my country) > Turkey plays a midfield centered football, Spain with passes, Netherlands > Offensive football, Italy > Defensive football, France > Counter attacks, Germany > Discipline and gegenpress etc. I still don't know how England plays. This team doesn't have a character and it's a huge problem.

You mentality and talent are two different things. Since i was i kid.. england was always among the favourites at any tournament. Tbh the arrogance of the english fans is the biggest mistake. You see it now in the CL,calling every other league farmers league. Thats just karma,every team will leave everything in the pitch and just calling France the only threat is just dumb and wrong. As a German I saw my Team 2014 trashing Brazil and nearly lose to Algeria, you never know whats happens. Still great team with an horrendous Coach, so dont be to arrogant.

I still cant believe Southgate got away with bringing 2 subs on absolutely stone cold to take penalties in a final shootout...no way we can anything with a manager who operates on that level.I also honestly believe that until you have a goalkeeper that can save a penalty you have no chance.
