She has a very immature mentality that is obsessed with technicalities. First of all, it's insane to have your partner or anybody rating you out of ten, especially if you're over 40 years old. Second, she doesn't realize it's not an objective question. She acts like there are truths about if you're a 10 or not instead of it being whether you're someone's type or not. So if your husband is saying you're an 8.5 wtf does that even mean. That's not him being honest, that's him saying he doesn't like you as much as he should. You shouldn't be aiming to please the world as a satisfying 8.5, you should not give a shit what the world rates you and instead just care that your husband and your family thinks you're the best. It's like on mother's day when a kid gives their mom a gift "best mom in the world." In Ann Marie's mind that is a lie. It's so weird.

That’s many years of not lving as you wish, due to taking responsibility and be a present parent to her children. She also lives in a culture where majority of the child rearng has been on her because she is a woman, all parties, daily tasks with school and after school acitivities, shopping, planning and making food to eat for the entire family, making sure to clean or and fixing a cleaning service, tending to her husband and be everything for him because it’s expected from women. Not you tryng to shame and make a joke on her expense for saying she feels ready for the youngest one to move out. This isn’t about Portia! It’s about her wanting her identity which she lost during those years of active parenting. Because guess what raising kids and cooking food and service a husband isn’t the only thing most women dream of to only be in their lives!
