People in the trenches have to lose their egos to survive. So, in that sort of an environment talent and ability speak for themselves. Your social background can't make you a great NBA player. I think it was Gilbert Arenas who gave my favorite description about Iverson's game in terms of defending him. He's that guy in the rec center who plays with a can or two of energy drinks. But Iverson is playing like that for 40 minutes a night and that is VERY difficult to keep up guarding him with the same energy. I don't think we've seen a guy like that even in the modern NBA. And Iverson in his prime I think averaged at least 40 mpg with a few seasons in a row going over 40 mpg.

He was loved here in Chicago. This guy kyle korver one of the reasons why derrick rose shoots the ball better today. He taught rose shooting mechanics during bulls practices. Today rose is shooting the ball better than ever cause of kyle. Korver’s IQ to the game and shooting was too good such a smart player he was too. Met him in person here in Chicago during the 2011 season and he’s such a nice guy very humble. He was a true professional sharpshooter. He is one of those players that can fit in any system . I attended a 76’s game in Utah in 2005. When I saw how tight Korver and AI were, I knew then there was something special about Korver (when I was 24 yrs old) and committed to watch his game from that night forth. Korver, much love from the beginning man!! And thanks for your example of keeping integrity and commitment to God in the midst of stardom!

Kyle Korver was one of the best shooters in the game. It's too bad he never won a championship. I recall him having amazing shooting nights when he played for the Atlanta Hawks. He'd come in and make multiple three-point shooters. The problem was, most coaches didn't utilize him and they certainly didn't believe in him. It's insane to have a 3-point shooter like Kyle and you don't set plays so he can make 5-6 shots from the arc a night.

Wow this the longest that I heard Korver speak! We definitely knew that we had something special when Kyle korver came to us. The first few seconds of the interview he said that nobody else could shoot on the team.. and makes us 76ers long time fans that much more pissed and better about the front office. We all knew that they weren't surrounding Iverson with the tools to succeed but this and many other things confirms are suspicions. I believe he still should have had at least three trophies and it's unfortunate that he didn't but his impact on the game and the culture of the game is of legendary status!
