@@ThinkUkraine I’ve had the same battle with rural mice in my house In America we have a mouse bait called “Tomcat” bait. They’re safe around pets because the mice enter the trap, eat the bait, and usually go off to die, all why your cat and dog are safe. It worked for me. Slava Ukraini

I sometimes sprinkle pepper when I see evidence of mice/rats. It seems to help. Other smells they apparently don’t like are mint, cinnamon, garlic, onion, cayenne pepper, lavender, citrus. Maybe you could experiment with some of these, particularly around where you think they might be getting in to the house. Maybe you could grow some mint, lemon balm and/ or lavender around the outside of the house. Also fill any obvious gaps in the walls where they could be getting in. Keep persisting.

Try to find the traps that they run into and also they have some they stick to. Moth balls might also help. None of these are poison to the cat or dog.
I can understand having trouble sleeping through it. It's not the sirens so much, but those explosions-- I could feel them through the headphones.

I am always asking myself from where Ukraine get petrol and gas? They have their own petrol and gas like Russia or they import them. Long time ago we didn't have gas because Russian gas transit Ukraine, they said Ukraine closed gas, but this was Russia, they said Ukraine stolen gas? I don't remember but obviously Russia lied and our rooms was cold.

I have more than thirty years dealing with mice in a log cabin in the bush or Northern Ontario. We are away from this cabin from October to May. When we re-enter in May there will be some rodent droppings. but much less than there used to be. In Canada we can buy rodent poison in block form and lockable plastic boxes called bait stations. Only something as small as a mouse can access the poison. Even squirrels cannot get at the poison. Apparently the poison is a bait that smells good to mice and many other animals so I suggest putting them around your house outside, not inside. I leave the bait stations outside with a cement block on top so larger animals won't take the bait station away. This has worked very well for me. When we are there in the summer we store the bait stations away and put a few snap-traps inside to get the occasional visitor. The newer plastic snap-traps mean you don't need to touch the mouse. If you can buy from that big mail-order business that starts with the letter 'A' then you will find these products. Good luck. Never give up!

Thank you Vita for sharing I am so happy to see that you are doing alright. I lived in a rural area filled with mice. The trap that worked for me I made mysrlf using 5 gallon buckets and caught a lot of mice. This trap is called a rolling log trap. I made my own using a soda can, sticks/pieces of wood for mice to walk up, coat hanger or bucket handle, and 5 gallon bucket. First one I built I caught over 70 mice in one day it was crazy. I also have had good luck with the metal lid and plastic lid bucket mouse traps bought off the internet or at farm stores. The sticky traps work I recommend looking at ones called Catchmaster multi - catch they worked for me. Pressing steel wool into places or cracks they can crawl into helps too. They also don't seem to like bright led lights either. The vinegar yes I use that it works too. The peppermint oil I mix up and spray outside. Scope or cheap peppermint mouth wash will also help repel them too. Stay away from eucalyptus and tea tree oil those are lethal to cats. Your cat would probably catch mice inside and scare them away too. Another trick for mice outside is a stand for falcons they catch lots of mice. Hopefully my mouse catching advice helps. Your gardening looks great too. Take care and stay safe. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦

Привіт, Привіт, Привіт Vita, nice to see you back. Despite all the missiles and sirens, you look as lovely as ever especially all the soil on you! 👩🏼🌾! You in camos are just wonderful. Lovely blue sky and green everywhere with birds chirping 🐦. Is the village affected by the power shortages. Regarding the mice..... don't cats love them?! The idea for an organic culture garden for you and your children sounds fantastic and very appealing. How about a BBQ in the summer?!, I'll bring some wine! This reminds me that there might be a solution for your garden. Arrange a garden(ing) party where all those attending tame your garden! One of my kittens watched this with me with great interest, maybe getting mice tips 😂 You are doing everything right, rats and mice hate strong smells (peppermint), high pitch sound (solar repellents), loud noise (vacuum cleaners) and things being moved aroind. If you make sure they have no access to food or water they may relocate, especially when they sense Fedya and Richie. You are amazing, I feel I achieve so little in my day compared with you always working so hard and selflessly. So much respect to you. You may also want to spend the warm season to prepare the house to be livable and reasonably comfortable in the winter when there is no electricity or gas.
