Kurt Nilsen won the first Norwegian season of the Idol franchise. Then he gave a phenomenal performance and defeated Kelly Clarkson to win the only (probably for that reason) World Idol competition.

After winning World Idol Kurt Nilsen could have been a world-star. He startet the journey - then he said: This life is not for me. Now he is based in Norway, still working with music. A great voice.

This song is originally an EDM song made by the pianist, Kygo. I don't understand why this video doesn't have more views. Please react to more Kurt Nilsen! Please!

The song was written by KYGO, who is also playing piano. Kurt Nilsen, the singer, won the 1st Norwegian Idol and went on to win the only World Idol in 2003/4. The original singer is an Australian, Conrad Sewell. Both Kurt and KYGO are from Bergen, Norway's 2nd City. The orchestra are the Oslo philamonic and in 2010 Kurt recorded a Christmas album with them and the same conductor as here.

Actually that was the Australian judge. Simon Cowell said this to Kurt in front of millions of viewers «if this competition was on radio rather than TV you’d walk it. Whats occured to me today is that we have allowed a lot of ugly people to become recording artists, under normal circumstances you would never get a recording contract, you know that and I know that». Kurt has even said later that he cried in the toilet behind the stage after that.

He also sings "Walking in the air"

Kurt also did a song called "Everything" and nailed a cover of Garth Brooks "The Dance". Definitely worth listening to.
