ℹ️ About the Episode
The Bird is where she belongs ... at least for now. We're considering donating her to the RV Hall of Fame museum, but much of that decision will depend on how much the KYD community enjoys stopping by. If you're ever traveling through Elkhart (likely for warranty work or factory tours) stop by and get a selfie with Gary. And share it with us-we love seeing you! We thoroughly enjoyed spending Season 10 in the Bird for our journey down Route 66. But even if she was faster, it's not practical to travel in a 1984 bus for months at a time making videos. Especially this season, when our itinerary for the rest of the year includes Zion, the Sawtooth Mountains, Mt. Rainer, Olympic, and the Northern Cascades. Bringing the Bird to her new home wasn't the only milestone in this episode. Carson graduated from Culver Military Academy and is now on his way to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida. He has decided to join the ROTC Navy with a Marines option. We'll share the process of dropping him off in Florida in August, as we've received so much feedback from loyal subscribers who enjoy seeing these milestones on the channel.

Trish……I remember that moment. That moment I realized that my beautiful daughter, who is 23 and a MP in the Army (a Sergeant), is able to handle things on a daily basis without my oversight. Without the need for ME to explain how things need to go. It’s a proud moment. Sad and ecstatic at the same time. But very, very proud!! I was in tears with you while watching you speak, so proudly, about Carson.

I went to 5 years of Woodcraft Camp and then 4 years to Graduate as a Company Commander at Culver and 2 years as a Camp Counselor at Woodcraft, I have a front row on what it takes to successfully accomplish what Carson did. He did great. Congratulations!

A mom victory for Trish! When my son graduated from boot camp I think I cried for three days! So dang proud of our young people who choose the military as a career. My husband is a 30 year Navy man so it means a lot to us to see the young men and women have a desire to serve. On a lighter note, my son worked at the Hall of Fame and talked to you guys and helped make the arrangements for the bird. He is now working at the state house in Indianapolis so he wasn’t there when the Bird arrived but I was there to visit last week and she looks great!

It's always uncomfortable when the tears start to flow but the tears said a lot. We all felt it too, thanks for sharing!

My babies are 4 and 7…thank you for being so vulnerable and showing the pride in your children and the tears…..you two have obviously done an amazing job. That’s all I hope for my children….that they will grow up to be those good solid human beings. You two are such inspirations and role models. Kudos to you….America needs more mamas and daddy’s like you both!❤️

That was one of my very favorite episodes EVER! Trish's comments at the end made my wife and I cry. We've just found out that we are pregnant with our first child, and the hope and the goals we have for our child is that we get to teach him/her how to be amazing human beings, who will cause an impact on people's lives even when mom and dad are not around. Congratulations to Carson, and to the entire Leach family for raising these incredible kids!

It's amazing when you get a glimpse of the life that your kids live while you aren't around. As parents you spend so much time teaching and correcting and it doesn't seem like it's sinking in but when you get that little glimpse like Trish did, you realize that they do get it and they are going to be just fine in that big world! 😊

You can relax mom. Carson wouldn’t have made it this far unless he knew when to be spot on. You trained him well. You can be proud. Every young man would be blessed to have a mother like you.

Did anyone else hear Trish on the way to Loves? To Charlie "you little weirdo" haha Trish you crack me up. You guys obviously raised some amazing kids. What a blessing for Trish to hear such great things about Carson when you're not with him he has amazing character. That speaks so highly of you as parents. He ran with what you taught him.
