Kyabram Mack Muster Part 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this episode of TruckStop we visit the Kyabram Mack Muster:
We have a chat with Dion Wilson, a builder from Triabunna, Tasmania, who rocked up to the muster with his 1987 Mack Super-Liner which he purchased in 2017 from Walgett, NSW. Originally, the truck was purchased new by Road Trains of Australia (RTA) which was established by Noel Buntine in the early 1980s. A 500hp V8 sits under the hood, driving down the line through a 12-speed transmission, to the 44,000lb diffs that turn at 4.71:1. Dion has given the Super-Liner a full restoration.
We also caught up with this 1980 Mack 6-cylinder Super-Liner which was purchased new by Tasmanian log haulers, Muscats, before it made its way to Toowoomba, Qld, where it was stretched, had a sleeper fitted, and was placed onto road-train work. In 2017, Rosco found it in a paddock in Toowoomba, bought it, and took it back home to Orford, Tasmania, where he stripped it down and gave it a new lease on life.
To finish off our day at the Mack Muster, we had a chat to Brian Reardon from Tasmania’s Huon Valley, who shipped his 1990 Value-Liner to the muster. The truck was originally purchased by Terry Copeland of South Australia. The 400hp V8 Mack, with a 12-speed transmission and 4.17:1 diffs, was once 120-ton rated, but now enjoys a more pampered life with its second owner after receiving a restoration which saw it stretched back to how it came off the assembly line.
