In Himachal..Pahadi people call it "Chaleda" .My grandfather used to tell me a story in which Yetis saved their lives from an avalanche. Pahadi people beleive that Yetis are not monsters .They never harm humans ..instead they protect us from natural calamities.

As a Nepali I can surely tell Yeti has been a part of it's civilization. I remember my grandma telling her story of when she was young. She use to tell her grandparents didn't allow any kids to go outside after 6 in the evening, not because of the fear of tigers or bears or human but because they feared a mysterious creature (As she said a huge hairy monkey like being which walked on its hind legs). My grandma never saw the being, but one evening she encountered something weird- she was inside her house with her parents all of sudden everything went mysteriously quiet. The only sound was coming for outside; something/ someone was there. She could clearly hear heavy stride outside (she added it was so unlike human). Her parents quickly took her to a safe spot inside the house and asked her not to make any noise or peek outside the window for her parents were so sure it was the same creature they kept warning about. That time these creatures had a bad reputation for killing domesticated animals and taking away children. Now, I do not claim the story to be true. The creature could have been Himalayan Sun Bear or some mischievous people stealing from an already fear struck people. But I have honestly met many people with such encounters in past.

This is an amazing story. What is interesting is the similarities in beliefs regarding the North American bigfoots. The native tribes of americas have forever believed in the bigfoot and always advice extreme precaution with children when one is nearby. They are regarded as child snatchers in their stories. I cannot remember the exact case that happened a few years ago but children lost in the forest which were later found described a huge hairy ape like creature carrying them.

As a Nepali and as some one who has served in the Army, yes we know about Yeti and many have seen it. No, its not that you will die if you see it, but we have been forbidden to chase it by following its footprints or shoot at it. It ignores us hard, we ignore it back harder.

Ranveer sir, I come from Dibang valley District Anini(Easternmost District of India), Arunachal Pradesh, thank you so much for highlighting about YETI. I come from an area where Yeti is very known. I personally saw their footprints and our tribal community (Idu Mishimi) recognise the existing of Yeti. We even hear their sounds and Communication. Many people from our tribe came across Yeti, which ended depressing. They usually roam near Nalas and small streams(mainly at night). We always try to keep distance from Yeti. And they hunt at night. And they live cave holes(very slippery) common people can't even walk on that cave hole. There are many stories about Yeti, legend stories. There are many things about Yeti are embedded. I can even write book on Yeti. Hope you Read this. Thank you.

Am a wildlife biologist working on large cats in western Himalayan landscape, he is right, i can second his claims about something huge living beings in higher Himalayan region. We discovered tigers on snowy landscapes of Himalayas only in 2012, Himalayan are Virgin forests and definitely many many secrets are yet to explore. Great podcast

There is no western or Eastern science - just science. Using internet, KZread, camera, lights, wearing "western" clothes and still seeking our own glory? What is "our own civilization"? Indus valley? It's a mix of sumerian/Iranian/Dravidian, not of the Aryans who came later and mixed with indians. Sanskrit use fonts derived from Aramaic.Even Pakistan or Dravidians have claim on it. (As everyone is mixed) Every "holy texts" are written with recycled stories of the past. Some written from viewpoint of the winner, some exaggerated incidents, some changes meaning when retold in new language, some have multiple versions... These religions didn't belong to any particular people. They belong to entire human race. Keep places of worship, holy texts protected..and move on. That's done, over. Don't make "WhatsApp University" claims like ancient Indian rockets, jet engine, n-bomb, internet etc. World will laugh at it. .

Will there be an Indian renaissance on today's day? I really hope so. I truly believe in this inquiry and sir being a triba,l many of these things were passed down to me as stories but never explored being a convent educated student at the same time, rejecting as myths. I live in the US and here in Georgia I have seen sasquatch (bigfoot) footprints in the Appalachian mountains. I also traveled to India last September, I visited Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Kashmir. I asked locals from all over the Himalayas about yetis, if they ever saw a yeti. In Uttarakhand’s Gharwal I showed locals photos of yetis, they looked at the photos and said it was either a Adi Manav, a Himmanav, or a Booth. I only met one Pahadi man near mana village (Tibetan border) who said that his grandfather saw a yeti, he said his grandfather would travel back and forth from Tibet. His grandfather saw the yeti Tibet. A friend of mine met a local Pahadi near chakrata. My friend expressed his desire to travel deep Into the upper Himalayas where it is only rock and snow no trees. The local advised my friend not to venture into the upper himalayas. He said large animals that looked like men covered in hair live there. He also said the yetis have dark black fur. In Himachal I stayed over near Kullu valley no one there knew what a yeti was. When i visited Kashmir near sonmarg the local Kashmiris said a Chudel would take village men into the mountains for sex. I thought they meant a female yeti, but I believe a chudel is entirely different. I suspect the Himalayan Yetis can found more easily in the Eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Butan, eastern Tibet Assam, Arunachal Pradesh. Maybe there are less in Uttrakand and more in eastern Nepal or Butan. They live in hig elevations in caves that are hard to reach. They make Gorilla nests in their caves. They usually avoid humans. There are stories of Tibetan yetis, Chinese yeren, and north American Sasquatch kidnaping human women and mating with human women. There is footage of a Chinese yeti/yeren human hybrid on youtube. I believe these yetis are the same vanaras in Ramayana. Hanuman was a yeti. The ndian government should work with Nepal and Butan to protect yetis, their habitat, manage wilderness areas and prohibit humans on there habitats. These yetis is are not any like any other animal, yetis are Pre Human homonids that have survived. They are called vanara in Sanskrit, almas/Almasty in Kazakhstani Central Asia/ Mongolia, yeren in Chinese, sasquatch in native American, yowi in Australian, chuchunya in Siberian/Russian, yeti in Tibetan, Nittaewo in Srilankan Vedda.

actually Lord hanuman wasn't a Yeti, ... He belonged to *Vaanara (Forest dwelling tailed humans)* _subspecies of humans, it's what ancient sanskrit text describe him to be, they had high cranial capacity than us moder humans (16OO cc),_ *Lord Hanuman was especially one of the many exceptionally learned and virtuous.. great Ancestors of Indian Subcontinent.* All the History is resurfacing, i hope we can proove that 'not all ancient stories of the world, are Myths'

Even Ganesha doesn’t have elephant head he has a Gana’s head. Look up G. @@ska4666 we have an archeological record of hominids and pre humans, none have produced a tail. I think the issue is you are taking ancient text literally and not anticipating stories and details are slightly changed over time. Every story over time gets changed slightly. I am sure that people during ramas era knew vanaras but as time went on people did know know what they looked like and the only reference was a monkey. We have to look at every ancient story carefully there will we truths and corruption.

I was convinced yeti existed when Indian Army claimed they saw it's footprints. The army is the most trusted organization in India, it is sad that west and westernized Indians ridiculed, he was right when he said agar kisi gore ne dekha hota to seriously le lete

Everyone has accepted that no animal can leave footprints that huge, everyone accepts its a yeti however the controversy is that some section of people (including some american talk show guy who I won't name because I don't want to give him publicity) think Indian army morphed these images and these guys are lying. @Ranveer Allahbadia - If you are really interested about UFO's then I will suggest you to visit a village name "Rahaoti" in Meerut District near "Mawana". Try to find someone who was alive at the time of 1965 Indo Pak war. When I was a kid may be around 10 (now I am 42) my Nani used to tell me about an Incident that happened at the time of Indo Pak war (not sure if it was at the time of 65 or 71). She told me that they used to live in darkness at night so that the Pakistani fighters cant see the village but one day there was a huge ship bigger then the entire village came over the village, its heat was un bearable and everyone was suffocating. There were white lights in it. It stayed over the village for around 45 secs. It was still and then it went away so fast that no body was able to understand what happened. Now if my Naniji had told me this story in todays world then I may have thought that it was just a story but this was told to me between 1990 - 1992. That time there was no mobile or Internet and only a very few people in the village had tv. (Texla shutter wala B&W) and most Importantly she had never seen a school. I had forgotten about it but then few days back while watching a program about UFO's, I was able to recall this

In Goa me and husband clicked a pic. Pic came like a defective piece.. A yeti type of figure was sitting besides me. Surprisingly behind us there was a Hanuman temple. It happened in 2001

Nepal has 8 highest mountains in the world so it is most likely that more yeti footprint sightings are seen there and there are many Nepali trekking guides who have seen them and reported but government doesn't talk about it to avoid offending the superstitious communities. 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 Nepal is a wonderland♥️

My dadu and others his age have repeatedly told me stories about 3 lights travelling among stars and coming on ground and moving in the blink of an eye. Also teleporting from one zone to another. Back then we only wanted to hear stories about bhoot and etc because we were kids . Now I wished we should have listened to his story on those travelling lights. Only after a decade it occured to me those were actually UFOs what he might have seen. I miss my dadu. Stories were from 40-50s era when tigers were still active in bengals villages.

As someone who belongs to this generation, I don't think ppl are curious. Nowadays They are busy in dealing with their own depression nd stress.

US Army also had many encounters with such giants in Afghanistan. Watch “Special forces attacked by unidentified creature | The Kandahar Giant” by Mr. Ballen. He is an ex navy seal and makes videos on mysterious events. But in this one, they talk about a highly classified incident that happened in Afghanistan mountains. I think these giant creatures are everywhere in the world where there are mountains that are beyond the reach of humans. They live in caves and are wild in nature but never attack humans.

As a Nepali, I have strong believe in Yeti. From our childhood, we have listened many stories about Yeti. And I have met many people who have encountered Yeti. Many times Yeti took their cattle but not harm them.

I'm from Northeast India and I guess I've also seen an UFO somewhere like 9 years back when I was 17 years old. It was in the night time, I was sleeping in our terrace watching stars and talking about life with a friend of mine. I always like to watch the sky and observe stars. The sky was full of stars that day and after some moment, at first, I saw a star changing its colours so fast. It was changing colours like it has lots of colours in it. At first I thought it could be an aeroplane but it was a strange object standing still at one place. But after sometime it started to move, it was moving so fast from one direction to another direction that I was sure that time, that its definitely not an airplane. It moves to all the directions so fast and comes back to the original position. First it move to right direction and comes back to the point that it was staying and then again it moves to the left then came back again to the point. Then to the upper direction and lower direction too but it always comes back to the point from where it started. Like he exactly knows the co-ordinates where he was in the sky. I tried to show it to my friend from the beginning but he was busy doing facebook in his phone. (Facebook was very popular at that time). But at last he managed to see the star how it changing its position and how it comes back to the original point but after some moments it just vanished like it never really existed. He was shocked watching that phenomenon too. The sad part was, I couldn't even film it because these high end camera smartphones didn't even existed at that time and I only had a nokia keypad phone which had a camera of 2MP I guess. The other day, I tried to tell my parents what just I've seen the last night, but they simply laughed at me and told me it could be a dream or I just hallucinated. My friend had seen it too but he was not sure because he just saw it for some seconds at the end. But I've seen the whole thing playing in the sky for almost like 3-5 minutes. My parents told there is no such thing, so I shouldn't be worry more about this things. But somewhere I know that what I've seen was not just a hallucination of my mind. From that day, I have a strong belief about aliens and extra terrestrial that they exist too somewhere in this universe. And for that belief I read so many books and articles, watched documentaries, listened to podcasts just to collect more informations about them. I always look at the stars till today (I like to see stars from my childhood, it makes me calm even in my tough days) and if I get another chance to see them, I'll definitely film this time. POV - I'm sharing this story because people think that these things only happens in America not in other countries but the thing is American peoples are more concern about these things and in here my country India, if someone says I've seen aliens, they think that he's really mad or he is just lying. And that's why people fear to speak up thinking that they'll get judged by others. That's the difference. But now-a-days, our generation is changing perspectives, understanding, adapting and trying to atleast talk. That's why I thought that I should write about my experience too as well. I strongly believe that they are observing us from decades.

I have experienced something like this. In childhood I used to love to look at night sky. One such time i have seen a red light blinking in night sky at same point for a few seconds and then suddenly disappeared. I just thought it could be my hallucination or an air craft Or a fire cracker But aeroplane is constantly moving, it will not stop at a point like that ref light I saw.

@@sarim6213 they are real for sure. they have been here for long time and they are far more smarter than us human race. they are just observing us. maybe high end organisations, governments knows it but they like to keep it secret. Because if this news came into light then the world will be a different place. And I'm sure about this because no man on earth could build the Pyramids of Giza at that time. Because its strange, its coordinates. Its more like a gateway to the other places that they use to locate our earth. You can see strange mysterious videos about the Pyramids.

I am from Arunachal Pradesh. According to story told by our forefathers we have yeti in our mountains but we call it MIRA. Especially in my clan one man was very close with that yeti(Mira). Little bit i remember about that folk story is that yeti are very shy in character and they like to live in a place where people can't reach them easily. I am from modern world and I believe there is this species yeti as there is so many things in earth that hasn't been discovered yet

My Parents Also Says That Yeti Exists but due to modern World We Don't believe it..

I am from Northern Pakistan, living in Karakoram Ranges, And Yes Yeti is real. I personally haven't seen one but our forefathers told stories of Yeti ("Hir Bilas" in Local language). They describe it as "a very tall being touching the skies was in front of us Or A tall thing with such legs are so long that it covers 5km in one step. So when we compare these stories we can surely say it is a Yeti.

That line "Kisi Gore ne dekha hota ye toh waha pe kitne Helicopter land hote hue" .. Shows how much we trust westerners than ourselves even after so many trust breaks and loots by them in the past. PS: Major is one of the most Rational guy I have ever seen, he does not believe in the "stories" which Ranveer is enthu about. But he does not ignore the fact of its existence also, he respects what the local people believe, and wants to find the truth.

Being a science student(zoology) i have learned that lot of human species (sapien) are still not found mostly in Bharat we burn the dead so we find very little fossils, my thought in this subject is that there maybe neanderthal man or some species have moved towards the higher regions due to some issues, as we can see the modern humans hate things that are not like them (physical as well as ideological) we think we the superior, there are evidence of Ramayana and if it is our history and the species that were involved in the battle must be real, as per Indians we don't believe in boiling water can be good for us untill the westerners will spend billions on it and say, then we will say India new it. Indians don't need open mind but it need flexible mind. Not everytime we can be right but atleast we work to find the right thing.

Cremetion existed side by side with burial practice of disposing the dead during the Vedic eras. Prior to that the preferred method was burial. If you compare that with sapiens history that's not really a long time. So your hypothesis is wrong.

Well one monk in Nepal went to mediate in the caves of himalayas there he found a dead yeti. After mediating for years. He came back to monastery with hand and scalp of yeti. Some british researchers came to know about it and visited that monastery, requested monks to sell them but monks denied their offer saying it's too valuable for them cause its their treasure. Those british guys stole it in the middle of night and from than it has been missing. It's sad cause only replica is available.

I'm from Nepal...Yeti was already known by the Nepalese since many many years back..It has already been reported as well..even most of the Nepalese have already seen the footprint of Yeti and took photos too.. It's not new for Us.

When I listen to this story it seem like a giant where we locally call suid tangjang in Meghalaya, some who seen they say that they have one big leg and they carry the person in occasionally the one they like and put them in the hills and never hurt people. Here in Meghalaya it still exists but we can see them only those who they choose.
