State Universities In West Bengal is worst of it's kind. My research proposal was rejected twice because of unavailability of competent guide and infrastructure. So, what should a student do then? Currently I'm doing my PhD from JIS University, they didn't only provide competent guide they also providing me funds plus proper research materials and labs. So, it is not entirely true that only mediocore students go to Private Universities. Please check your facts.

Bhai Setting nhi hai to admission nhi hoga chahe kuch kr lo. I wasted one year and took admission in private university. Private mein acha guide krte hai, har waqt kuch bhi btane ke liye ready rehte hai. It's my second year. Edit: Sharing Experience after 1 year. Private universities mein nalle professor bhre pde hai 99%. Chadarmodo ko kuch nhi aata. I'm suffering from it. They have very little knowledge about research and academics.
