Laxmibai is sent to her cell by Nelson. Hamilton, on the other side, swears to annex Orchha and Jhansi in order to exact revenge for being slapped by Ladai Sarkar. Ladai Sarkar, meantime, demands that Laxmibai appear in court. She makes fun of Laxmibai, saying that she could make the British dance to her music just as well as they could, and that if she wanted their army, they would provide it. Laxmibai responds that the flag belonged to all of India, not just Jhansi, as Ladai Sarkar proceeds to burn the Jhansi flag. Then Laxmibai leaps to save it from the burning flag. She charges Ladai Sarkar of being a British lackey before rising to the throne.
