Hello Martin, hello everyone, thank you for answering the kick no starter problem. I'll try it later but your explanations are good 👍 #kickstart#motocrossstartproblem#pannedemarrage#kick #ignitionfailure#igniting
Thx for spark plug wire tip!💯
Thank u so much for the video .. I think I might be having The same problem. Leaking gas from fuel pump when I unplug the fuel line from fuel pump
..I like to add some dielectric grease to the plug wire and a zip tie to keep it place.. Great vids, thanks!...

I had a coil go bad. When they are cold they are constricted like normal. Like anything that gets hot it expands. Well the coil had a break inside and as it would expand the short would occur. Once it cooled down it would start. So it would only die when it was hot. Got a new coil and ran like new.
Bad stater coil! A decent stator should have between 0.2 and 0.5 ohms of resistance. If you get a reading of infinity, that means there is an open circuit and your stator is bad.
i have a 2011 kx450f and i also had to replace a fuel pump.
Always check kill switch first
Yamaha for life!
I have a 2011 kx450f has good spark and compression but the fi dont spray fuel in the air when you take the line off of the carb, the bike also dont fire with ether directly into the carb either, has 0 hours on new piston/rings and valves have been shimmed. Yes the bike is in time.

Might check your fly wheel and make sure the woodruff key isn’t sheered. I have seen that a few times. It makes the spark out of time. Not sure why the pump isn’t spraying fuel. Could be a ad pump
ignition coil?
Stator would be my first guess.
Oil blowing by the rings fowling the plug
You know I'm kinda scared now as I got a yz250f 2001 and well wasn't running cleaned up the carby and got it serviced and the bike ran for like 10 seconds has decent compression but someone was telling me something to do with the shimms timing or the valves but then mums bf is a machine and he was saying it no good one like it will kick had good compression and had it started again after 100 kicks lol and only ran for 10 seconds then locks up and un seizes its self so any ideas then I'm sick off not riding so got a 450 cheap and really really good condition nice bike and the guy was telling me needs valve clearence or something looked at as he'd bump start it everytime he road it and supposedly hot it would kick over but hasn't started for me yet 🤣😭 might try your method but did you end up figuring out whst it was the problem? Sorry for long message stay cool 😎
Not sure if you would remember, but where were the oil leaks?. I have the same bike and I also have oil leaking. It seems to be from the neutral comp sensor. Would this be common also would it be common for maybe an over flow of oil. I basically put a bottle in to see where my leaks were and I'm having a hard time finding them.

I can't remember but Lots of KX's leak from the countershaft seal, and the motor vent
Intake valves are tight
Fuel pump or coolant temp sensor
stick a battery where the capacitor is , take off the front number panel , unplug the the 3 wire blank plug by the ecu , stick a test lamp between R/W and BL/W and ground out the Y ... read off the fault code flashes :)

Check for fuel delivery and battery condition Quick question if you have time, on this KX or a FI KTM, if you pull the battery, will they kick start? Many bikes no longer have a kick start, but if you have a dead battery, maybe a stator doesn't have enough voltage to run a pump, total WAG on my part.
@highlandcycles
4 жыл бұрын
This bike doesn't have a battery. On the new KTM FI 4 strokes, they won't run with a completely dead battery because the battery runs all of fuel and ignition and the stator just charges it. If it is totally dead it can't make up the difference.
@bradl45

Thank You Cool to hear the KX doesn't need a battery, so the tech is there!!! I have 2 KTM's FI with no kick start(350, 450), good to know if you got a smoked battery, don't try to bump start them for 2 days. lol. (I haven't tested the no battery thang) Thanks for sharing the knowledge!!

Brad Lu you bet. The tech has been there for a long time. Snowmobiles have been fuel injected for a long time without batteries.
the 2013 kx 450 were murder for fuel pump failing .
Got a 2007 model having same problem but what's with the kicker why is it so easy to kick is that normal for that bike or just soft because the valves need servicing or something
Having owned a k250f I'm going with fuel pump
Valve too tight?
it's the TPS sensor I spent a lot of cash on other parts turns out the TPS sensor was dead I was getting a spark just did not want to start

Hey I’m having an issue with my 2014 crf250r fuel injected. I cleaned and re oiled air filter and put in bike. The next day I noticed a puddle of the air filter oil under the air box and realized I didn’t wring out all the oil. I went to start it and it wouldn’t start at all. I opened air box and noticed it has an inch of oil in there but below the throttle intake. I think the oil got into the throttle and into chamber. I pulled spark plug and it was wet but not sure if it was wet from the blue oil. The spark plug has spark , and removed air filter , but bike will not start. Any ideas?

@highlandcycles hi I have the same bike. It doesn't start at all! I have a good spark and I guess the fuel pump works because I flooded it several times. It won't even start with break cleaner in my air box...not even a second. Do you have a hint for me? I'm getting frustrated.😧 Thank you

I found out what is wrong but I don't know how that happened. The two bolts holding the gear wheel on the cam shaft were broken. I found the bolt heads down in the engine after draining the oil and get the cover off where the stator sits. Any ideas what happened? I bought the bike used and I have no idea what the guy did to the bike.
I have a 2014 with dual fuel injection, replaced rear injector O-ring and set TPS i have leaking fuel from the airbox/ Boot area which is why i changed the rear injector which is flooding my bike!! Would a fuel pump problem cause this excess fuel through the injectors or such? Thanks

I have the same bike 2010 KX450F. Do you have any idea why my bike would take so many kicks to turn over. 10 to 15. Also after a bit of idle itll die and start right up. After riding for a little while and I shut it off for say 5 to 10 minutes it will have the same issue as if i was starting it for the first time again. Also I have an oil leak at the main plug but I have a new crush washer and bolted to torque. Any recommendations or answers to these problems. I can not find anywhere online for these answers. Please help.

My naighbors are too cheap for a shop so they debit the favor bucket. Last one was was a 95 Polaris magnum 4stroke that sat outside for a decade. My question to you is how do you tell someone that it ain't worth your time?

Just look at it briefly and say this thing needs a little of everything say something like this is going to get expensive quick they will change their mind quick . Pro tip ... If you don't value your time they definitely won't either ......
@highlandcycles

Wrench one is right. The way I do it is make a full list of everything it needs, down to tires and oil change. I put everything on it. The bill will then be overwhelming most likely and they will bail. If they don't bail then it makes it worth my time to do it. Now if you are doing this stuff for free for friends you will have to be strong and just tell them that you are not going to waste your time on something that isn't worth putting all that time into. For a shop that is easier because we have other machines to get to and you can tell them that. Good luck because I understand you problem.
