LYRICS :
Dear little lad
Here is the story of my life
I lived on the moon (2x)
Grey flying snakes along
The mountains of destiny while
The three tailed monkeys
Were drawing the stars
Light from the sun and I
Hide myself on the dark side, alone
I've run so far
To find my way
Then I dream again... alone
Dear little boy, listen
To the voices of your soul
It showed you the way
Of silence and peace
Follow your thoughts and fly
Choosing all the things that you desire
Giant waves, fireflies...
Your dreams will be your only shell
Your secrets, your hiding place, my son
Don't let let them try
To crush your brain
Let you go far
... my son

I found this 14 years ago. Life went on but I never forgot about it. Here I am at 31 years old crying because this is not just a piece of blissful beauty but it's also a part of my so many memories I made.

Here's my take on the meaning. A father is telling his son about his life, how isolating yourself from the world and living in your imagination makes you lonely. He tells him still to listen to his intuition though, his inner voice. To do things that makes him feel good, and find inner peace. He shouldn't listen to everything he's told to think and do.

This is my favorite song. Insanely beautiful.
I first listened to this song 16 years ago when I met my wife and I've loved it ever since.
Every now and then I come back to this song and video, in order to feel sad and happy at the same time.

Sad and happy together is a good poetic cocktail. New songs and album soon with tons of sadness and happiness together...
They really nailed it with this song. Not to often musicians or any other artists deliver a true masterpiece, this song is one example.
I listened to this when I was 8 and I never was able to find it until just now. I nearly cried XD
I was 5 years old and it was my first concert. I remember this music because it made me feel something impossible to explain and now, 15 years later, listening to it, I still feel the same way. Your music is magical and I thank you for sharing it with us.

Finding Kwoon was one of the best musical gems I've ever found. Still continues to be the soundtrack to my life.
This makes me happy on the inside. My daughter and I fall asleep singing this.
My 10 year old child has sent me this and it surprised me how powerful and striking it is. Beautiful piece of art! Congratulations!!
this shows you what's possible with the music video medium. it's been over a decade since I first saw it but it still pulls me in...
This is probably the best example of a video fitting the song perfectly. Every single thing in this video is in sync with the song. And the part from 1:50 gives me chills. Especially if it's played in high volume.
2024 i still loving this song! and the message it give us! ty
I watch this video often and every time it is a powerful blow to the heart. Very rare for me to find in other world songs. this is not just a song, but Music. Thank you.
Many years later and this is still one of favourite songs. Ethereal & eternally beautiful. The animation is perfection. Kudos to all the artists.
I don't know why, but this strikes me so hard every time, so I just can't stop crying. Amazing.
that orchestral + the guitar and the awesome beat sends tingles down my spine every time i hear it start up.
This song has been my favorite for half of my life.
هذا ما ذال يبكينى بشدة بعد ٥٥ عاما وهذا عمرى بكاد.....❤ 0:21
This song is the first song of Kwoon that I listened and I swear it struck me so hard and I never get tired of it. I could listen to it whether I'm in a sad or happy mood, it could give me the chills and powers in both condition. The music itself is so beautiful, and the lyrics is so deep. And since the first time I listened to this, Kwoon simply be my favourite band up untill now. I'm in love with their creation, Their songs are so deep and powerful. I hope people would recognize this form of an art more than it already has.
2019 and I still love this video
This video really is better than the sum of its parts - I adore Kwoon (go listen to "Jellyfish", it's awesome), and Yannick's animation style, but together it just elevates it to a whole new level. Also, my husband's father died when he was young, and he says this video is very soothing to him. So...from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Yan.
HOLY. SHIT. AFTER 12 YEARS I FINALLY FOUND THIS MUSIC. 12 FUCKING YEARS FOLKS. (Best part is: i forgot i made a notepad file with all my fav soungs 12 years ago)
This song/video combo is just so damn gorgeous in every way, and i always keep coming back to it.

@@Kwoonit's in my soul. I just shared with a friend five minutes ago.
3:45 makes my hair stand on end. This may be one of the best songs I've ever heard
It is by far the most amazing, beautiful, emotional video I have ever seen. A magic world, purely what a child could have imagined or dreamt, that expresses feelings any person have felt before!! Bravisimo
I recommend this so often. It has captured and moved me for years.
I finished watching this with tears streaming down my face... this was amazing. One of the best clips I have ever seen. So epic and so moving.
This song hypnotized me. Can't stop listening, words can't describe!
I love this song and the video , absolutely beautiful .
When I remembered this song, I went to my dad and asked him "What was that song with the boy and his mom on the moon?". Both him and my sibling looked at me like I was crazy.
That three tailed monkey that hitches a ride is still every cat I've ever had.
2020 n i still love this melancholy.
I haven't watched this in a few years, not too sure what made me remember it but it is just as beautiful as when I first saw it.
I saw this at school it's been 30 years. Then I went to see kwoon and it was absolutely amazing.....
I listen to this for my son Christopher Robert Paul Campbell. I lost him at 3 yrs old to hepatoblastoma. He would be turning 19 tomorrow on January 26th.
This song just makes me cry.
My friend reckons my interpretation is bollocks but here goes. At first the Dad is showing him the way till something attacks him, the emphasis on sun makes me think cancer. It takes him and his ghost floats up to stay in the clouds looking over him. The kid, heart broken, finally finds his voice (the big mouth thing) and singing transports him out of his black hole. He travels and has amazing life experiences. Eventually cancer (a hereditary disease) resurfaces and the sun people take a shot at him. He's not aware of the danger till its nearly on him but he narrowly escapes and sails on free into the future.

an interesting way to look at it~ I just always thought it was a father giving his son advice for life and stuff... I always had it in my head that the dad probably knew he was going to die, and the song is him telling his son what life is all about.

Annesha V the text says something about that the own dream is like a personal sanctuary, where you can be free and where you can listen to the voices of your own soul. It's the power of imagination, don't let "them" (sun = light = truth) take it away from you!

Şimdilerde anka kuşundan geriye benzi sararmış bi hayvan kaldı... Azizim akıl baştan gidip aşk geeri gelir miki 😔
Kwoon's entire album deserves to be made into a third fantasia. The other songs paint vivid pictures just like this one does. Either that, or someone just needs to make a series of animated shorts based off of each of their songs.
It brings me back into my prime in 2011. Memories. Feelings. Vibe. Wonder about the future. All of it. Feel locked last five years, brain crushed. But shell never broken. We all free ourselves, eventually.
This is just amazing and I have always loved it! 💖

I'm here from 2020! It took me a little while to remember the name of this. I kept trying Swoon lol. Great song and video ❤️
my dad sent it to me in 2009 when i was still a kid, and i haven't heard it since until it got stuck in my head the past couple days! i had no idea what the name was, just remembered the melody and the visuals. then came back the "moon", then the rest of the title settled back in a couple days later. i'm so glad i found it again. sounds just the same as in my head still, what an unforgettable song

To be more clear, the parent is like, when i was a kid i had these dreams (the moon being an example), and how the world would try to close in on that one safe place, your imagination, and that you have to hold it on even through that. All the words are part of that lecture, even after the parent is gone. I think.
Every few years I come back to revisit this. Thank you for putting it out into the world.
I discovered Kwoon only a year ago and this song is in the top 10 of the most important songs for me.
