Ok. So the higher the number, the smaller the hook size? I bought some of those TG76 2/0 hooks and thought I was buying a set of grappling hooks. Based on what you are saying, and the fact that I am using a Truscend .7 ounce swim bait, I need the number 4 size hooks. Right?

Mustad is the way to go best hooks around

If I buy a kvd square bill it should have kvd hooks. Right ?

Why not have these hooks on the baits right out of the box??

Bassassin it would probably come out to a 10-12 dollar lure if that was the case. They’re currently only 6 bucks for a 1.5 and 2.0. And I’m sure strike king wants to keep it at that price point.

Yeah it definitely keeps the cost down. 6th Sense cranks come with these kinds of hooks out of the box and aren't ridiculously expensive though. I don't really buy a lot of Strike King cranks (6 and 10 XDs only), but putting the short shank EWG trebles on a Rapala DT turns an awesome bait into a deadly one. The Rapala stock hooks aren't as bad as the Strike King stock hooks, but I just prefer EWGs.

What about for smb? I never go up only down for smallies,like the 6th sense baits come with monster #4 or even #2 hooks and i always take them off and put on #6 mustad or #6 tornado hooks from vector

Search Mustad KVD Triple Grips and take your pick. Any of the big outdoor retail stores will have them. Tackle Warehouse usually has them on sale a few times a year.

If your such a big wig with Strike King and Mustard and this is your recommendation for every bait, then why don't they make them right to begin with?

Prob is guys you will catch half as many fish when you upsize hooks , bass aren’t stupid. Trust me try it 6 -8 only

You really think you know more than KVD? 😂 crankbaits are reaction baits anyway. Bass aren’t eating them because they are hungry, they strike as an instinctual response, regardless of hook size.

Bass fishing NYC smaller hooks on a crank will NOT get you more bites, but you will hook less of the fish that bite. Smaller hooks will also cause you to lose more of the fish you hook before getting them to the boat.

@@johncoleman7308 yeh if you dont know how to fight the fish and your rods to stiff but if your dialed in and have good hooks and play the fish you will land every one caught thousands on size 8 hooks out fishing so many people beside me throwing giant size 4 hooks in clear water bass track down the bait and if all they see is hooks its gonna def get less bites i know this because i fish beside so many people doing it and out fish them day in and out b
