It’s a map of all Turanic people. There is a theory that Turkic people, Mongols, Uralic people, Tungusic people, Koreans and (depending on who you ask) Japanese people are all distantly related. This map more or less shows a union of all the lands where these various ethnolinguistic groups live.

Turks and Hungarians are not related. Modern Hungarians have the same DNA as Austrians or Slovaks and the language is Uralic, not Turkic. The only common thing is that Hungarians used to be nomadic 1000 years ago.

@@Raxenenationmy research says that magyars moved to modern-day hungary from the central asia, but other sources say that the ancient hungarians came from the ural region, moved to hungary by crossing the eurasian steppe, my assumption is that when they were crossing the steppe they made contact with the nomads there, but it still doesnt clarify weather Hungarian are uralic, turkic(or maybe one of the turan nations), but idk you could have some idea Ēdit = “Both Hungarians and Turks originated from North and Central Asia respectively, then they migrated westward in different eras. I live in Poland, but i have some ancestors from the Great Steppe. I hope a lot of people from eastern Europe, and almost whole Asia have some ancestors there. From the east, whence today Japanese, Koreans and Chinese have even to 60% of DNA (probably) from Xianbei, to the west where hunnic, sarmatic, ugric, avar, mongolian etc. invasions broaded the universal "altaic" influence area to eastern and even central europe. Of course DNA is nothing compared to the sense of belonging, but i think, that is more than nothing. So respect for our Eurasian sisters and brothers ❤

You nailed it quite well, people gloss over China when talking about Altaic, but their minds are too attached to recent history. Original Ancient China (Xia, Shang) were extremely similar to the Altaic culture before becoming tamed later, becoming a lot different.The word 'China' also comes from Qing, the Qing dynasty ruled by Altaic Jurchens. Also the upper half of China are literal Steppe Mongol-like descendants. And the southern half of China also still have heavy Altaic ancestry. China is practically part of Turan. East asia is basically a divide between Turan & Austronesians, but even Austronesians are a mixed race of northern mongolids (like Altaic) & native Papuan type peoples in prehistoric east asia.

*Explanation of the Maps for people aren't unironically schizo turkic ultranationalists:* * Finns , Samis, Estonians and all the other karelian / uralic people in the north, labeled as turkic because I assume they being ural-altaic makes them turkic I guess???? * Hungarians and Bulgarians who are obviously aren't turkic but used to speak a turkic language so that's why they are included * Mongols and Buryats are basically very similar to Turks in a way * Japanese and Koreans are Altaic, nothing to do with the turks but hey if uralic people can be turkish why fellow japanesebros can not? * Crimean Tatars, gagauzians, souther azerbaijan are turkic * The entirety of the central asia except Tajikistan is turkic * The weird siberian thingy in the northest are the Yakuts who are turkic * The rest of marked parts of Russia are turkic like bashkurts, tatars, chuvash etc... * Chechens, Dagestanis and other islamic caucasians are considered as turkic even though they aren't, but culturally they've been living with Turks for a long time, so I guess this one is slightly less insane. * The thing between Gaguzia and Hungarians is "szekelys", a Hungarian speaking group, if normal Hungary wasn't already enough. *None of this is my opinion, I'm just trying to guess why the map is the way it is.*

They are the szekelys, a hungarian speaking group who came with the 7 hungarian tribes to recounquest pannonia in the 9th century. They are a "different" ethnich group or branch of the ugrics but speak the same language. And if you was talking about crimea they are the crimean tatars who are turkic. Hope thats helps even tho my grammar is ass

You got hungarians entirely wrong. Hungarians are not like bulgarians. Bulgars were a türkic ethnic group whom invaded modern day bulgaria and became the ruling class, through the orthodox curch they united the slavs under them, this is how bulgarians came to be, the culture and laungage of the bulgars faded away and their slavic subjects, the bulgarians continued their legacy. Meanwhile hungarians did not speak a clearly türkic laungage. It was long debated whether hungarian should be classified as uralic, uralic-turkic or turkic but later it was classified as uralic however conquering hungarians or ancient hungarians genetically were mixed between uralic, indo-iranian(scythian, samaratian) and türkic elements(xiongu). Genetically the closest ethnic group to the conquering hungarians were other türkic groups like the baskhirs. The hungarians lived next to and with other türkic groups like the khazars for centuries, they also admixed with slavic and scandinavian elements on the steppes (most likely from the kievan rus). When they arrived into the carpathian basin they found a land occupied by the bulgar, moravian and east francian empires. The battle hardened hungarians easily defeated these empires whom were fighting amongst each other for years, making them weak. The hungarian culture, laungage unlike the bulgars did not fade away, since the hungarians were more numerous and they did not form a ruling class but setteled amongst the locals, whom were used to be ruled over by nomads due to avar and bulgar rule. The hungarians quickly assimilated the locals into their ethnic group. Also hungarians assimilated the remaining avar population wich is believed to be of türkic origin. So in conclusion the bulgars were a turkic ethnic group whom died out but their slavic subjects the bulgarians formed into an ethnic group under their rule, while hungarians assimilated the locals into their culture and ethnic group and hungarian laungage survived unlike the bulgar laungage.
