The non stop hyper-criticism of Brock is unlike ANYTHING we’ve seen in football before. Relentless nit-picking and shots taken at him. Why don’t people just appreciate Purdy for who he is and what’s he’s done?

Its because these experts think the focus is too much on purdy, when the other members of the team doesn't get as much coverage or hype. That's the reason they say Purdy is good, but what makes their team competitive is the other parts that don't get media coverage. What they fail to mention though is the injury that Brock sustained and we saw what happened to the 9ers without him. In short, Purdy is the Qb that the niners need and the parts are what make Purdy good.

purdy is basically dak prescott lite, kirk cousins lite, lamar jackson lite ===== excellent QB, but get to the big games, he hits the ceiling because big teams in big games force everthing onto Purdy ====== we ve seen that time and time again happen to dak, lamar and kirk and jimmy G ====== not sure why people expect more from Purdy, the dude is a freaking 7th round pick!!

During one Super Bowl, everyone on the Niners was nervous during a final drive. Joe Montana got into the huddle and said, "hey guys is that John Candy in the seats?" It calmed everyone down. They saw how cool he was. it is infectious. That is what Kurt is talking about by not letting the moment be too big.

KW is an excellent analyst. He knows his stuff in ways that other talking heads simply don't. Just that insight about the aspect of Shanahan's offense that is tough on QBs contradicts the usual BS that "any" QB could succeed in that system with those weapons and perform just as well. We know that's not correct because we've seen it play out. KS doesn't mold his system to the talent at hand. Just the opposite: the QB has to mold himself to the system, and if he can't do so quickly KS throws him under the bus. He was so (unfairly) disgusted by Trey Lance that he ran him between the tackles until, predictably, Lance busted a leg. It was shameful.

  • @Richard-mq7wf

Kurt is wrong. Primarily it comes down to the Chiefs Oline vs SF Dline. If the Chiefs can't block for Pat then Kurt's scenario is irrelevant either way--Chiefs lose. If the Chiefs Oline CAN block then even if the Chiefs have a hard time stopping SF's run, the Chiefs/Mahomes will pull it out. Basically, if Pat can work his magic then what happens with KC's Defense is irrelevant.

To beat Mahomes in the playoff, you either have to 1. Annihilate them ala Bucs in Superbowl 2. Outclutch (with some luck) ala Bengals / Patriots in AFC Champ Without luck, I don't see Brock is able to do #2 ... so Niners must achieve #1 ...

If the pass rush, which is supposed to be great bcuz of all the big name players on the D-line, gets pressure like the Giants did in '07 to the Patriots then they'll have a great chance. But no pressure more than likely means no win

KC run defense ranks 27th DVOA against the run. Expect heavy doses of CMC and Deebo ounding the rock. Punish KC physically and it opens up everything else. Mahomes is one player. Lay the wood on the receivers like the hit that Lenoir put on Swift in Philadelphia. Ronnie Lott squared up Icky Woods in SB XXIII and let Woods know what was up. Warner and Greenlaw need to make Pacheco pay for every yard. The 49ers DL needs to control the LOS. Do the above and play sound football without turnovers, and the 49ers will dominate this game.

The hate Purdy gets is ridiculous!! Nobody criticized Mahomes bcuz he had Tyreek Hill & Kelce his 1st few years. Did anyone say Brady wasn't great bcuz he had Randy Moss, Wes Welker & a dominant defense when they went undefeated in '07. Nobody accused Peyton Manning of having it easy bcuz he had Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne & Dallas Clark when he threw 50 TD's. All the Purdy haters are just that, haters

Pocket QB’s are still the ones winning Super Bowls. Patrick Mahomes is not a running QB, he’s a scrambler ala Fran Tarkenton, Roger Staubach, Terry Bradshaw. A true running first QB has yet to win the Super Bowl. Even Russell Wilson was a pocket QB who only ran when the play broke down. They weren’t designed runs.

I’m pretty sure the niners will dump there running game real fast and purdy will start tossing that ball 🏈 playing right into Andy Reeds trap
