A marvellous band-we are living in a golden age of jazz guitar players-a terrific upload-thank you.
the 2 most significant guitarists of our time, brilliant
Two of my favorite contemporary Jazz guitar virtuosos on one stage!! This is what my dream is made of. I love that Kurt provides as many lime-light solo opportunities as possible for Peter while providing beautiful rhythmic foundations with super chord progressions. You can hear some of the most inspired solos from Peter along with Kurt's inspiring cutting edge solos. Valerio, grazie for sharing this!
it's like peter has the best tone, and plays the most tasteful melodic lines... and kurt has such a concept and writes so well, the yin and yang of great modern guitar

@ilfn sks One is looking for music the other shams.
I have not been a Bernstein fan. Now, hearing him and comparing styles and phrasing with the so much lauded Rosenwinkle (whom I have liked since he appeared on the scene), I dig hiom better than any other "young" jazz guitar player. I am happy to have always an open heart&mind and be able to change my perceptions&opinions.
Always a treat to hear Peter B. & Kurt R. together.
Peter Bernestein is one of the best modern east coast jazzers. Plays a guitar made by a maker who was great but little known. Bernestein says its the best sounding guitar he ever played.
love the passion dance quote from bernstein in his first solo
Thank you so much for sharing!! Bless your heart.
This is amazing! Thank you so much!
This stuff is makin me smile. Two darn good g players with an excellent rythmn section.

Incredible line up 🔥
Talkin' 'bout j.c.- Kurt is the man. He has taste, and he is always searching.
Sounds great. Eric Harland keeps a sublime motor running, building an ever interesting rhythmic landscape for the pictures these guys are painting.

Garzone's solo on "Invitation" (ca. 1:16) is stunning, but so is Harland's playing throughout. Wonderful.
Peter plays a lot of George Benson licks on the 1st song!!!

Still, when you listen to Rosenwinkel's album "our secret world", you will find that Rosenwinkel can really bring back to life older genres of jazz such as the 60s progressive jazz and authentic, almost cinematic sounds you hear in suspense movies of that era.

Why the camera is always on Kurt even during the Peter's solos? Weird camera work.
love scott colley's tone. says it all...
I did a couple minutes of web searching. I suspected Mr. Kelley (below) was right - I thought, "If it is a D'Angelico, it is the least ornate model they offer." It appears to be made by "A Sicilian luthier named Domenico Moffa". It is Kurt's signature model. I doubt you can run down to Guitar Center and play one. But Kurt also works with D'Anglelico and plays a FS (EU) D'angelico Nyss-3b semi hollow guitar. The model pictured on various sites is sunburst. It has a number of the D'Angelico style features. Eric Harland at 48:35. I enjoy everyone on this recording. I especially enjoyed the interplay between Colley and Harland like around 50:00. I think Kurt and Peter's style compliment each other.

The guitar he's playing is a Westville Water or Butter. Prototypes made originally for Kurt before they made his Vanguard SC and Vanguard double cutaway signature guitars. The Water and Butter ( Water has a mahogony block, Butter a maple one) are probably Westville's most popular models.
Pete is playing with the melody in mind more so. He told me Wes was his favorite! He didn't like many of the current"hotshots" because of their technical B.S!

Love it how Wes M. says he admired musicians and real guitarists as a reply upon the criticism some classical guitarist supposidly had spitten out about him. Wes goes " I don't think of myself being a real guitarist i just love playing the guitar, i would never be able to study or play what real guitarists play"... something like that... The shear modesty... I keep it in mind cause i'm not a real guitarist either and his mentallity keeps my feet grounded.
I guess I should have read further down. Mr. Hawk already posted the same answer but also indicates Kurt no longer plays D'Angelico.
What is the name of the song at 42.00? anybody can help me?
I find this very interesting, that some cats find that Peter has so much soul while Kurt don't and vice versa. I wonder what it is that makes us feel different in this aspect. To me Keith Jarret, Brad Mehldau, Bill Evans, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Gilad Hekselman, Sonny Rollins are ex on guys who resonate with me on a deeper level beyond scales and theory. Thanks for the music :) What would I do without it? Wish all the best.

There seems to be a LOT of speculations regarding the guitars, so I'll just set it straight, Bernstein's playing a Zeidler, they are extremely rare since the luthier died and you can't really put a price on them, Rosenwinkel's playing a custom-made guitar by the luthier Moffa that he has been using since the end of 2013, no more D'angelico
