Olivia Trummer! Wow, that intro piano solo!
We definitely need a caipi 2.
Superbes envolées de Rosenwinkel
Kurt is a real treasure to jazz guitar field.
Kurt is a new oxygen and jazz needed it so badly. Pedro is a precious talended young guitarrist and brings with him the brazilian soul universe. What a combinations.
Pedro Martins !!! Amaziiiiing
The dialogue between keys and guitar. They sound so similar, yet so different. I don't understand music but that was cool.
First heard him on brian blade fellowship album and never looked back. He has become one of my favorite guitarist.
It took me a couple of spins, Caipi is a great record!
Some of the best music on the planet right now!
I am here because of Clapton! Apparently is a fan of Kurt.
DEAR GOD!!!! So incredible. Kurt is one of the best things to ever come out of Philly. This whole ensemble is beyond talented. Kudos to the drummer, fantastic performance!
fantastic! title of this tune is 'chromatic b'.
It's sounds like a Milton Nascimento tune. He certainly inspired Martins and Rosenwinkel

I was slightly sceptical about what the Caipi record was gonna sound like, but if this is any indication, I'm on board!

Aha 'Chromatic B' !! I love it !!
I can hear at least 3 things on the piano intro that I would relate back to rosenwinkel and mark turner

Fortississimo - he's saying hes too loud. it is to loud in the mix, whether that's drummers fault i can't say but i don't care for drummer either

They are at the mercy of the Engineers. Give the drummer a break, he sounds great.
The drumset sounds HORRIBLE even though Bill Campbell is playing great.

what in particular? you think it should sound tighter and be down in the mix?
@elmhurst86

@@crieverytim The drums are tuned very loosely and don't ring enough. Why is it that as drummers we've come to accept dead sounding, very muffled drums as something good? We don't muffle a guitar or a piano, why our drums? Of course, Bill is able to do whatever he wants and I respect his decision. He plays really well.

@@elmhurst86 perhaps by limiting their tone, it gives the other instruments more space. the drums just keep the pulse, add rhythmic nuance and nothing else - he doesn't want them to ring out. also - we do muffle guitars. we do muffle pianos.
