@@carloszarate8522As unfortunate as it is, it’s not likely that Kurt wanted to die. It’s even less likely that he actually killed himself in the first place, as there were no fingerprints on the gun that was used to shoot his head. Between the incredible haunting version of this song and the beautifully shot video, this might be one of the best depictions of showing how alone this poor man felt.

@@justinhopper5941 Not exactly the point that was made. It's about the feeling of loneliness and how psychically it seems nothing can make it go away, all the songs buried in Cobain could do only so much in making him feel free, creatively or spiritually, as art can transcend loneliness. However, when it seems like people can't understand how deep it goes, one really sees the futility of it, how our efforts to express our souls seem to barely scratch the surface of this thing that is inescapable, buried deep within. I think Cobain understood that it was too much to live with for any lifetime and it's better to burn out than fade away. Also I think Gus Van Sant captured that kind of alien feeling in these shots by having so many long shots of Kurt juxtaposed to the environment, making him seem insignificant to that which was oppressing him inside while the emptiness seems much larger.

Last Days is a 2005 American drama film directed, produced and written by Gus Van Sant. It is a fictionalized account of the last days of a musician, loosely based on Kurt Cobain. It was released to theaters in the United States on July 22, 2005 and was produced by HBO. The film stars Michael Pitt as the character Blake, based on Cobain.

@@satanslovechild6458 Yeah, felt that one. Last Days is a really, really good film. From a critical perspective, it has a very European sensibility in that nothing really happens for large parts of the movie, yet you can't take your eyes away. For the uninitiated, El Duce was the musician who was rumoured to have been offered money by Courtney Love to whack Kurt. After he said this in a Nick Broomfield documentary, he was found dead after being hit by a train. Funny that...

He wasn’t lonely at all, he was said by his pal krist to be funny and happy majority of the time just didn’t like interviews all day. He had a child and wanted to be left alone, he just couldn’t kick the heroin, Damn shame cos he was talented but he had plenty of friends and people he had close to him the drugs just drove him over the edge. He loved being famous even his main photographer said so, he used to ask them “do I look like a rock star today” and they would always tell him yes of course, they say he was more of a diva than let off.
Kurt Cobain truly was a beautiful human who sadly was not meant for this world. He was so empathetic and passionate for anything and everything that it took a heavy toll on him. As sad as it is to admit how bitter he was becoming towards those said things, he should have still been here- BE here. May he rest in peace! 💕

So dark, so haunting
I have family members in my life addicted to drugs, specifically heroin. It’s extremely hard to watch someone with a life and kids fall to the same hard addiction after being clean, and I think seeing and dealing with those loved ones first hand really helps me “understand” and see what Kurt’s pain was. It’s so, so heartbreaking not only to see, but hear in there voice. I’ve been a huge fan of nirvana for well over 10 years, I hope he’s somewhere better now as he is my musician idol, and has helped the world with his music. This video really shows how it feels to be addicted to heroin and traumatized by a rocky childhood. Cold, Alone, scared, lost and broken. Rest in peace, 1967 - 1994

Nirvana will always have a deeper history than most bands, just by reading his journal, this man was very real. So many bands at the time hid behind wild makeup, a tough happy face and constant partying, but when grunge rolled around, they took down the whole hair metal persona and replaced it with a raw, unflattering but real image of a struggling person. People look at heroin addiction as a weakness, (which yes, it is), but they never think of why he uses it to cope and what he was coping with. His childhood was bad, his mental health was bad, his wife treated him horribly, he had a child on accident, not ready for one, he dealt with some stuff about his sexuality (you can read about it), and he battled with addiction tooth and nail. he had a lot going on with him and his music saved people from there own demons and suicide, aka me and maybe you too. We all will miss you Kurt.
It's like he froze a part of me in time when he left. I'm 49 now but that just made me feel 21 again. Life is a trip. Keep resting in peace ✌️

I was 11 when I bought A hard day's night at Melodia store in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Soviet Union. That was my favorite tune. Now I understand that there was so much loneliness behind the simplicity of the song..
Some of us know that hollow feeling. That overwhelming heaviness of being alone, even in a room full of people. Some have those silent screaming eyes, walled in by a face of sadness. I cant pretend to think I know how you felt. Everyone's sadness is their own. Connected through only tragic moments that ring of the sting of heart ache. Burdened with the weight of living and longing for that final moment. Throwing it all away. Didnt want it anyway. Cant help but envy the strength it must have taken. To look back and then make that final step.
I really liked how the moment when Kurt's naked ghost leaves his tortured body and starts climbing a non-existent ladder was shown and the fact that this scene is seen by us from behind the glass in addition, from a certain distance, it becomes almost ethereal. It was really beautiful and I was moved😢 A very well made video and that background track adds to filled with nostalgia and sadness the atmosphere.
Well done, really like it. You captured the scene perfectly

One of the most gifted song writers of his generation. In the UK, where MTV was not prevalent in the 90's, I was genuinely shocked by his death. I knew him only through his music. I don't think I'd ever even seen an interview with him. The UK media was not freindly to alternative music, punk, metal or hard rock in general in the early 90's. Nirvana helped change that but it happened slowly. I knew nothing about his struggles with addiction or other issues. At first I simply did not believe that he was dead then I assumed the information I was hearing about the way he died was incorrect. That was easy enough because it was inconsistent. First it was an overdose, then people were saying he was shot which obviously implied murder. Then suicide. It was only when I saw the NME cover the next day that I really believed it. I write all this to dispel the idea that the world was somehow sitting around waiting for him to die. Then watching the after effects on MTV with live coverage of his suicide note being read out. I only saw that footage years later. That was only the case in America. It certainly wasn't the way it was in the UK where very few households had cable or satellite TV.

People irl are surprised because of my personality and because my dad thinks that me listening to Nirvana is something he should tell all his 50 year old coworkers. I don’t go around presenting my music taste like a badge of honour. I’m pretty quiet irl and so people wouldn’t assume that I enjoy grunge, rock and metal music. I don’t dress edgy or anything and I’m quiet but generally very sociable. There is nothing different or special about me relating to the songs from a well-known band.
