Voicemails on landlines back in the day were audible. So a person could pick up the phone OR 'screen' their calls, hear what was being said, but not pick up. Kurt is assuming she is screening.

True 100%, but the same can't be said about Courtney. There is several instances where she throws Kurt under the bus or belittles him publicly. Kurt always went out of his way to complement her and say kind things about her. Like in Reading '92, he makes the crowd say "We love u courtney", also on "the word" talk show, Kurt says "Courtney is the greatest fuck in the world" LOL..

This is the pitch corrected version. Whatever had been released previously is way deeper, slower speed that changes pitch. You can still hear his voice in that one though, but it was obviously transferred or recorded at the incorrect speed, or intentionally distorted somewhere along the line. So this isn't the version that everyone believes isn't authentic

When I was given morphine in the hospital, I remember my voice was lower and deeper and I thought it was probably just cause I was so calm and a little out of it from the meds

Alphabetical Order Excedrin is the brand name. All it is, is Tylenol (Acetaminophen) Aspirin, and Caffeine.

All the ppl saying he got more smashed with each recording. no.. he got more sober. his voice gets more and more recognizable as he sobers up.. ur only off guts for so long.. the first one..., clearly smashed.. voice is f’d.. last one. voice is clearest.. listen to first. then last.. pretty obvious.

I am the youngest of 3 girls. My oldest sister showed me and my middle sister the first nirvana album...I was....9 I think...my middle sister really like...connected with Kurt's lyrics. We all did....be hers was extra strong. My middle sister was always the most emotionally troubled. We all are barely sane...but yeah I heard it first about kurt being found dead...and I was terrified to tell my sister...it was rough. My oldest sister just sat with us and we cried for hours. Fucking awful. He I'm from Washington state....about 2 hr drive from my house. God that sucked.

Yeah, you could tell he's high. When your high you take long pauses between your sentences and your voice is deeper. Plus in interviews he talks at a normal pace. I think it's nice he was protective. I would've been pissed off too if someone did this, but I bet he regretted it later

William they’re sexist. Never mind all the times people close to the Cobains recall Courtney hitting and being very abusive towards him. She even had a history of violence prior to them getting together or even meeting for that matter. They just want to talk about the ONE time a guy reacts, not the 50 million he sits back and takes it. Now that being said, I don’t condone the abuse of women. But I also don’t condone the abuse of ANYONE. They don’t realize that not every time a man hits a woman is it a malicious act. It’s often self-defense because women especially here in America, grow up being taught that men aren’t allowed to retaliate, so they feel they have a get out of jail free card on the physical abuse side of things.

I recall this being published in Q Magazine (from memory) back in the day. These "ladies" had also gone through his wheelie bin looking for syringes etc in order to vilify Courtney for using drugs while Frances was a baby. I'd only read the transcript until now. I assumed (from the language) he would have sounded a lot angrier.

He was protecting his wife, but God. I don't think he should've put a fake hit on her.

I knew he was angry sometimes but hearing him actually say it as serious as this rather than scream it is really different. Not to mention the fact that she was probably hearing all this as Kurt said it, either that or she came back to a few unread messages.

He said his name at the beginning. I always thought the far more scary thing is people calling that say nothing. My flatmate, that always gave out her number too freely, had caught us a guy like that. He called our flat for several weeks after midnight and got three women wide awake and wondering who had called whom, and who of our co-workers and exes was the troll. You don't know what they're up to, especially when you don't know who it is. It luckily stopped, when I started reading 'The Hobbit' into the phone, whenever I answered the calls (always the first chapter, so he probably got bored). "In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit..."

Its the quiet ones that may shock you.

It’s scary how quickly suicidal ideation can morph into a desire to hurt others. Kurt didn’t know what he was doing at this point, he was so sick. His loved ones really could have helped more, they’re the only ones who could have saved him. If he pulled a Dave Chapelle and shown back up 6 years later, we’d all have understood.

Suicidal ideation doesn't make people want to hurt others. Trauma and anger do that. I have been suicidal since I was a kid, had bad moments because of trauma, but thankfully I never did anything. As for anger, he's clearly pissed off here with reason. Sometimes, when you're mad, you say shit. Don't spread misinformation, there is enough stigma against depression.

Victoria wrote that article about Frances being born with heroin in her system when in fact she was not! the hospital would've put Frances on heroin if that was the case and ween her off of it before she could be discharged which could've taken a couple of weeks, because of VICTORIA'S ARTICLE Kurt and Courtney had CPS on them and they took Frances away.....
