@@NirvanaGuitars also I have a feeling the pots on the guitars make a difference on how bright sound, so if the Mustang had 1mg pots then it would sound really similar to the jaguar!

Just discovered your channel today, and it's admirable your attention to detail and dedication to reproduction and fidelity. Nirvana is one of the most important bands to me as my mother loved them and played them often when I was a child. My first guitar was a Squier Telecaster. I then went to the shop intent on getting an Epiphone Les Paul as my ex girlfriend had one I played often. I prefer them for metalcore/hardcore, but most notably I find Les Pauls so much easier to play for the lower-chords. Fenders are harder on the wrist, and most people play them them with the headstock up high and close when standing up. I used to compare my Tele and her LP trying to understand why and I still don't know. Somehow I ended up leaving the guitar store with another Fender though, a Telecaster Deluxe HH. I love it, but it's a lot closer to single-coil Tele's than you'd think. The Jaguar & Jazzmaster were two others I considered getting, and I still plan to. But I need a Les Paul first. Also your Eleven rack is something that I am now very interested in.

My preferences: SLTS = Jaguar on the clean, not much difference in dist. In Bloom = Jaguar About a girl = not much difference Rape Me = Jaguar N Creep = not much difference H S Box = Mustang, but Jaguar in dist

I am so frustrated I didn’t buy the KC Signature Mustang when it was available. It was only $1,000 back then. I bought a MIM Mustang Pawn Shop special failing to realize the one I played in my local guitar shop was a MIJ Pawn Shop Special. I really wanted the Teen Spirit one, which is dumb since that one wasn’t used by Kurt to my knowledge. Now I’m leaning toward the sonic blue. I’m wondering if I should get the Jaguar, Jagstang or buy a used mustang and mod it.

great sound. i think i prefere the Jaguar but there is no much diffrence.

Definitely prefer the pickups in the Jag

There's not a huge amount of differences in sound but over all I would pick the mustang over the Jaguar for its more bass/darker tone than the brighter tone of the jaguar. Both are great guitars 🙂

Agreed! They are similar with the main difference being the Mustang having a little more low end. Both of course are perfect for playing Nirvana!

@@Lalairu yes sir, JB certainly sounds a bit darker imo! Although I've heard the neck pickup in the jag is actually really good as well for regular stuff not just nirvana!

@@DelScully I see... I like both a lot actually, but I must decide lol. I already have a tele, so I might buy a CV Squier Jaguar and mod it. I saw a demo a week ago, and the result is very good.

@@Lalairu I am deciding as well! Have a couple jazzmasters but am wanting a short scale guitar and have always dreamed of the KC Mustang, but its way too expensive now and my second favourite is his jag! I like the Jagstang as well though!

Cant decide between the jagstang or the jaguar, any advice?

@@NirvanaGuitars oh wow sweet thank you! Yeah its tough. I tried a jagstang in stores, loved the neck but disliked the sounds. Tried a Squier jag, hated the nexk loves the sounds. Ugh

so, let's say I want the jaguar tone, but I have a CV mustang would it be a good idea to use the DiMarzio instead of the Seymour Duncan? like without changing the pots or anything like that, just swapping the pickup

Kurt didn’t have the Mustang writing on skystang 1. It just said fender.

Correct. Fender’s right handed Cobain signature model comes with mustang written on it, left handed does not

I know Kurt had his distortion settings pretty much almost maxed out all the time. But for me I would lower it down till you get the dynamics shining through.

jag stang is a little darker, sounds better imo

Did you mean the Mustang? I agree that the Mustang has a bit of a darker sound. I’ll be doing a future comparison video that’ll feature my Jag-Stang!

I didn’t even know I had a Kurt Cobain signature daphene blue that you have till I was told in studio. I just wanted a Fender Mustang with a humbucker. I had a P90 stang just wasn’t cutting through found for $550 at pawn shop with black Seymour Duncan that you have in video. Alas I don’t have the tremolo bar if you read this can you tell me part #? Killer axes 🪓🤘🎸
