Fun fact: In the manga, Pegasus reacted to Yami-Yugi summoning kuriboh with "What, somebody actually plays that card?" As if to say he made that card as a joke. And yet he didn't even realize the existence of the kuriboh, multiply combo.

I believe Multiply could multiply any monster with 500 or lower attack points kuriboh was just the one to debut it. It just became such an iconic moment when the card game came around they made it specifically Kuriboh support lol

Unfortunately kuriboh always has been terrible. Nothing about it has been worth using over countless better options, and even some of those better options never even saw much play outside playground yugioh. Things like Negate Attack, Waboku and Threatening Roar quickly took its place, and even some of them weren't used. Then there was battle fader.

Exactly. Technicly, your opponent could raise the attack points of their monster to completly ludicrous amounts, Kuriboh negates any battle damage whatever the amount.

Yeah, I personally find that cute where all the Kuriboh brothers are bouncing around. You gotta admit, he’s a really cute and lovable creature. Especially the Winged Kuriboh that was given to Jaden Yuki by Yugi Muto in the beginning of YuGiOh GX.

If I recall correctly Kuriboh is one of the first few hand traps in the anime? Which is funny because Yugi doesn’t use its hand trap effect until battle city semi finals. I’ve always liked the little guy and glad his brothers finally made it to the card game.

Notice how of all the Duelist Kingdom duels Pegasus actually takes Kuriboh seriously. Being the creator of course he would know that Kuriboh isnt just a low powered attack monster

I said this multiple times, Kuriboh is a cute monster, but not one to underestimate. Sure he is a weak monster, but he is great as a defensive monster. Yugi use him a lot and he saved him multiple times. Plus he always believe in him.

Bro, Kuriboh is my favorite duel monster, and I always hated people making fun of him in the show. I had a special bond with him when I was a kid, and I’ve had 3 of him in my deck (and 1 Winged Kuriboh) even after all these years. He’ll always have a special place in my heart.

That's true. But at the time of the duel, Kaiba didn't even know that Thousand Eyes Idol existed, or Reliquished and it's related cards, since Pegasus had the only copies and he hardly ever played the game against others. Take Toon World and the other Toon cards for instance. Kaiba had no idea any of those existed. And Yugi only knew of them due to rumors and hearsay, which Kaiba almost always dismissed as nonsense.

It gained that effect 8:05 later on. Hell, in the fabdub of the dark dragon of legend, red-eyes shows its plot potential by defeating blue-eyes ultimate dragon for meteor black dragon, which isn't possible in the real game 😂. I do admit the drama of all these well timed cards and extra good effects (card of sanctity) make it and real life scripted duels/duel operas entertaining.

The other Yugioh series like Yugioh GX they changed the way the Magic card "multiply" works. in the original Yu-Gi-Oh the Magic card multiply it creates thousands of Kuriboh's but in GX it only makes like five or six of them at the most. i don't think they should have changed the way the card effect worked it should have been the same in the new series too but in a way i kinda understand it though if they "didn't" change the way the Magic card "multiply" worked then the card would be op and "overpowered."💯💪💪💪💪.

I think that for GX, it was more to have it match the card game, where it fills all your unoccupied main monster zones with Kuriboh tokens. While they keept going with what they established so early on in Duel Monster.
