Even today in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, an incredible history of Mahabharata tells the story of that time. The family here holds importance since the Mahabharata period. Located about 45 km from Gwalior, there is a place in Morena district which is known as Kutwar. Some people also call it Kutwal. It was also known as Kuntibhoja during the Mahabharata period.
Veer Pandav, Arjun's maternal grandmother is also here. The Harisiddhi temple established by Arjuna and Shri Krishna and the Shivling worshiped by Goddess Kunti are also established here. The Asan river flows near this temple, on the banks of which even today the imprints of the horses of the Sun and the footprints of the Sun are present.
It is said that Lord Surya Narayan had lowered his chariot during the Mahabharata period at this place and met Kunti. When Surya gave it to Karna in Kunti's lap, then due to fear of localja, Kunti threw Karna in the river here.
Railway station Morena is about 12 km from this place. You can come here by taking auto or taxi from Morena station. You can also reach here by private vehicle. There is no public transport system here.
मध्य प्रदेश के मुरैना जिले में आज भी महाभारत का एक अतुल्य इतिहास उस वक्त की कहानी कहता है. यहां का कुतवार महाभारत काल से महत्व रखता है. ग्वालियर से लगभग 45 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित मुरैना जिले में एक स्थान है जिसे कुतवार के नाम से जाना जाता है. इसे कुछ लोग कुतवाल भी कहते हैं. महाभारत काल में इसे कुंतीभोज नाम से भी जाना जाता था.
वीर पांडव, अर्जुन की ननिहाल भी यहीं है. अर्जुन व श्रीकृष्ण द्वारा स्थापित हरिसिद्धी मंदिर और देवी कुंती द्वारा पूजा गया शिवलिंग भी यहीं स्थापित है. इसी मंदिर के पास बहती है आसन नदी जिसके तट पर आज भी सूर्य के घोड़ों की टाप और सूर्य के पदचिह्नों की छाप मौजूद है.
कहा जाता है कि इसी स्थान पर महाभारत काल में भगवान सूर्य नारायण ने अपना रथ उतारा था और कुंती से भेंट की. कुंती की गोद में जब सूर्य ने कर्ण को दे दिया तब लोकलजा के डर से कुंती ने यहीं नदी में कर्ण को बहा दिया था.
रेलवे स्टेशन मुरैना इस स्थान से लगभग 12 किमी दूर है. आप मुरैना स्टेशन से ऑटो या टैक्सी लेकर यहां आ सकते हैं. निजी वाहन से भी आप यहीं पहुंच सकते हैं. सार्वजनिक परिवहन की व्यवस्था यहां नहीं है.
