Amazing reaction. I enjoyed watching the movie again with someone that loved it like I did. When first watching it 😂😂😂😂😂
I think Shang Chi was inspired by this movie. First, using ten ring as a weapon. Second, remember Trevor (Mandarin) faking death in the middle of chaos? It's just like the landlord faking death in the chaos. If it's just a coincidence, the actor of the landlord (Yuen Wah) is also acting as Master Guang Bo, Shang Chi movies.
Rings on the forearm of a guy doing Iron Fist isn’t a Chang Chi thing, it’s a kung fu thing. There’s plenty of movies that did it going way back. Lots of kung fu movies are style vs style based. The movie these guys made before this is Shaolin Soccer. It’s also silly great and a kung fu spectacle. Cheaper and older but still great. Same writer/director/producer/stars.

The instrument assassin scene is not that the instrument is a weapon, but that they are masters of concentrating negative energy and use the sound the instrument makes to transfer their negative energy into pain.

The Landlord’s technique is Tai Chi. That’s why he’s limp and rubbery and can take his wife’s beating. He body has no resistance and can go with the flow of any energy.

When an enemy who was jealous of the Buddha came to kill him, he offered him a cup of tea and showed mercy. There is a famous Buddhist story that the enemy who came to kill the Buddha at that moment repented of his wrongdoing and eventually became a disciple after being enlightened by the Buddha. The final scene is also about this.
