NONSENSE... 1) The Kumasi Traditional Council is not superior to other Traditional Councils in Asante, such as the Juaben and Mampong Traditional Councils. They all have equal powers, irrespective of their sizes or constituent numbers. 2) Another nonsense of the uninformed. In most Asante states inclusive of your own Kumasi, when the Paramount Ruler is not around, travelled, incapacitated or dead, the power of caretakership of the state reverts to the Queenmother of the State, such as in Kumasi, the Asantehemaa, and the Ahemaafuo of the other proper states of Asante. The power does not leave the Royal Family of the state. Never. The Kontihene, note the proper meaning of the name. Konti, means a stool created for someone for the purpose of waging war as originally created for Amankwaatia of Bantama. It does not mean ''Kuro ti hene'', as some people have corrupted the name and position. The Head of the Town, is alwways the chief or Ruler, not the Kontihene. As said when the chief or King is no more around or non-functional, the power reverts to the Ohemaa or Queenmother who is in truth the real owner of the State as Akans/inclusive of Asantes are matrilineal. The Ohemaa is also, the actual Head of the Royal Family, not the Abusuapanin as some people think. Not even, the chief. The Kontihene is only appointed to assist the Ohemaa, in the administration of the state should such a situation of the male ruler, chief or King, be rendered non-functional. One of the chiefs said, this: ''the male chiefs do not swear to the Ohemaa, so she has no powers of summons over them''. That is a total nonsense. Why does the Ohemaa sit in when these chiefs are swearing to the Omanhene, the King or other male ruler? Who owns the Omanhene's male stool, to which you these divisional and sub-chiefs swear to? Is it not the Ohemaa or Queenmother? Let me ask this chief this question following what he has so erroneously said about the Ohemaa's lack of power to summon the chiefs in his warped thinking. Do the sub-chiefs and divisional male chiefs swear to the Kontihene? No. If then, are you not shooting yourself in the foot? Where then, lies the power of the Kontihene to summon the sub-chiefs and other divisional chiefs? 3) The Offinsohemaa should be steadfast and not stand for her right to be usurped by anybody. Everyone in Asante, from the Asantehene to the lowest in Asanteman is governed by ASANTE LAW. There are limits on everyone. Asante is not a dictatorship. The various families in Asante have the first right and charge over their stools and chiefly positions. This is fundamental right that has not been ceded to anybody in Asante. The Offinsohemaa if need be, should take over the male stool, enstool herself as the Offinsohene, which is very possible since she is past the Menopause and as such can officiate at rites in connection with the Stoolroom and the male stool. She should do so, till a suitable royal becomes available. Everybody in Ghana and Asanteman without an exception whatsoever is answerable and bound by the dictates and rulings of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
