Because they should have sought a building permit with international airport specifications and build as specified. Waiting until completion before coming out to say this. Afghanistan, Somalia, and Iraq are International flights. Just because planes might not be able to fly to the USA and Canada does not disqualify it to be an international airport. Ghana to Nigeria is International, and every flight that is between two different nations is International. Also, the Ashanti region is no jungle. Is because the old one is in the taxi link way and that it must be demolish , so they had to commission the new terminal for them to use it for the domestic flights and when the link is completed they will work on the extension on the runway to 2300m from 1900m and create additional apron where planes can park …already icao has given them the code name that Kms for the airport …so don’t belief this self acclaim aviation expect😂😂😂

Meanwhile, tamale airport is also an international airport, but we didn't see all these reportage about tamale airport. It was commissioned way earlier than the Kumasi airport. But there has not been any flight from there to Europe. Kofi TV never reported on tamale airport. Kofi Tv hate Asanteman so much, just like how Dormaahene does. He always fish out for negative things about Kumasi and shine more light on it. The airport has not even lasted for a year since it's commission, yet he is saying all these negative things. He said he will talk about the Ashanti airlines too hitting roadblocks. It's always negative reportage on Kumasi. When wampaamu dormaahene started his rants, he was constantly saying that, I don't hate Asantes. Eventually everyone got to know that he hates Asante when he met bawumia and told him he shouldn't choose Asante running mate. Their fleets are smaller aircraft so they can land Egypt air uses Airbus A320 and Asky uses Boeing 737 those aircraft are quite smaller to land at Kumasi Unlike Emirate, British Airways and the likes, They uses bigger aircraft so they can’t land at Kumasi for now NB: Egypt air came to Kumasi not for commercial purpose.. That is what Zamalek players boarded to Kumasi to play against Dreams FC during the CAF tournament
