KUIU Stalker 500 Pro | Demo & Review

This pack is small, but is big enough to carry the essentials. Whether you still hunt, run and gun, spot and stalk, hunt Georgia pines, or mountains of Montana, the KUIU Stalker 500 Pro should have a place in your kit!
It can be run independently, suspended inside your KUIU day packs, or if desired, attached to the KUIU Pro Bino Harness.
I primarily use it for scouting, checking cameras, and "after harvest" tasks. But this little pack offers so much more. The ability to run this inside of your pack with bladder and "final essentials", allows you to dump the rest of your gear so you can travel light during the last moments of the hunt.
Check out this video where I give a full demo, including installing it inside a Venture 2300, attaching it to the Pro Bino Harness, and wearing it independently. One thing I forgot to mention was, it can also be attached to the outside of the pack using the same style loops as the inside.

The last set it up to did, is the way I always use it. Its just easier! I like running this setup for run and gun setups when I'm closer to home.👍

It sure is nice to grab a lightweight setup and hunt personal property, or close to home permissions! I keep my 500 pro in my hunting box at all times now. So on after work hunts all I have to do is pull it out, throw a few things in, grab my bow and go. Did you check out the giveaway I’m running right now. I posted a few days ago on KZread on how to get in?

I love my stalker 500, I run it the same way you showed at the end. I swapped out my Kuiu bino harness for a Badlands x2 harness. I think the kuiu harness is the worst of all the brands at this price point. None of the pockets are usefull besides the main bino pouch. The harness is solid but at $110 you can step up $30 more and you have Marsupial, FH, badlands and a few others that are far superior in my opinion..... Great reveiw man🤘

Nice! Thanks for this review. There aren't many in depth videos on the stalker actually showing how to use it. Only showing the pockets essentially. I like the idea of putting it inside the mesh back pocket. If you just had your kill kit/tracking supplies in there and didn't need to access any pockets that gives you cleaner access to the main compartment of the pack without all the buckles and straps on the stalker in the way. I like that the top pocket of the stalker is still accessible too so you could keep a few items in there that you could access while it's in the mesh. The stalker on the bino harness definitely seems clunky as you showed. It would be good if you planned to only use it as a hydration rig and kill kit. Then run a small fanny pack or the trophyline thigh rig setup for your gear and essentials you want to access easily. But yea I would definitely still just use the backpack straps from the stalker so taking on and off would be easier. Also seems like a PITA bc there is no hydration hose clamp on the front of the bino harness to hold it in place. Whereas if you had the backpack straps pulled out you would have that.

Yeah I think running it inside a pack to be able to pull out after harvest, or final stalk, using the shoulder straps is ideal. I do like the Fanny pack idea to. Maybe like the Ultimaider OSP! ;)

Can you actually strap a bow to it?

Yes… you could probably strap a bow to it. But I would not. It’s too small in my opinion. If you had something in the pack, it would make the bow flip all over the place. And if it was empty, it wouldn’t be thick enough to protect YOU from getting beat up by your bow. I definitely would t use this as a hunting pack, or load bearing at all. Too thin.

do you think this will be good for one sticking saddle hunting ?

  • @robzmancave

If you are going to carry a very minimal amount of gear, yes. I one stick saddle hunt, and I wouldn’t be able to carry everything I need in it. But I do carry it sometimes inside of my main pack to hold my bladder and cleaning kit.

@@robzmancave nice. I currently use an eberlestock x2 pack and I will be transitioning to one stick saddle hunting next season. I kinda feel like it's too much for what I need so I may go with something smaller like a fanny pack or something

@@GiosSimCorner I think the x2 would be good for my setup. But I’m stuck on my Venture 2300. It’s unfortunate that they are discontinuing it.

Couldn't you use the waist belt you tucked away?

  • @robzmancave

    @robzmancave

The 500 doesn’t have a waist belt. It has front compression straps and the bottom straps for the shoulder straps. The front compression strap is not long enough to go around the back and around your body, unless you are smaller around than a soccer ball.

@@robzmancaveAh maybe they changed it? I ordered one and it has a waistbelt.
