Also I'm pretty sure a lot of tournaments were canceled due to covid. I know some people from my gym were going to go to japan, but weren't able to. there is one kudo competitor in UFC. But obviously they are at a disadvantage vs your typical wrestler-striker as a large number of techniques used in kudo (several judo throws, "long range clinch" i.e. controlling the opponent through gi grips while striking, as well as many judo chokes) aren't applicable to fighting without the gi.

Nakamura was really fucking lucky they were wearing masks. In the very beginning he got hit square on the jaw when he blitzed inside. This pattern kept repeating so many time I honestly lost count. This fight would have been over in the first two minutes if they hadn't been wearing headgear. Good stuff nonetheless, but damn, just ten years ago the Japanese STILL thought face tanking was a viable tactic.

ok, from the creator of Kudo he said it is a cross between, Karate, Judo, Jujitsu and Kick boxing, and MMA is Mixed Martial Arts, so to say this looks like MMA but without, is only somewhat right, to claim mixed martial arts, you must be trained in different martial arts, and to bring the UFC or KO, they are only leagues where different martial arts can fight each other...MMA isn't a style and can't be learnt...

Now, I blame the russian crowd for not showing proper sportmanship, especially towards a foreign athlete. If the crowd had a sense of sportmanship, like they should, they would cheer just as loud for the japanese as the russian. Which in my world would be common courtesy. Yes, the japanese may have had a weak supporting presence there, but the russians were holding the event at home and henceforth one would expect a larger russian presence than japanese. Not the japanese's fault that they'd have to pay alot of money just to get there. Why so aggressive btw? Were you personally in the crowd?
