@@kailashmenaria2049 It simply has a hard time competing with mma in many countries, and sometime also clashes with local culture. It's pretty popular in russia though. Also I'm pretty sure a lot of tournaments were canceled due to covid. I know some people from my gym were going to go to japan, but weren't able to. I think the last tournament anyone from my gym did was the pan-american.

like all the professional tournaments in any martial arts. they can't waste or lose their timing. Means, if you use a full kick on others, you are rendered defenseless unless you have the opening. Probably grapple is the best choice.

they need them, Kudo isn't MMA friend, this is used to subdue or seriously hurt people, typically they also wear chest protectors...this isn't the UFC friend

no. they protect you from external damage (cuts, bruises, broken noses etc) but they don't stop knockouts. In fact if i had to describe how it is being hit (i use them) with those, it "hurts" (as in, actual pain) less but actually dazes you more.

No Muay Thai can not compete here. Because its a standing boxing. Judo also can not compete here becauase has no strikes

why you will never see Kudo used in the UFC? Kudo is made to subdue your opponent...strike and restrict...

there is one kudo competitor in UFC. But obviously they are at a disadvantage vs your typical wrestler-striker as a large number of techniques used in kudo (several judo throws, "long range clinch" i.e. controlling the opponent through gi grips while striking, as well as many judo chokes) aren't applicable to fighting without the gi.

Nakamura was really fucking lucky they were wearing masks. In the very beginning he got hit square on the jaw when he blitzed inside. This pattern kept repeating so many time I honestly lost count. This fight would have been over in the first two minutes if they hadn't been wearing headgear. Good stuff nonetheless, but damn, just ten years ago the Japanese STILL thought face tanking was a viable tactic.
Noo!! This is Sparta!!!!

The helmet do reduce injury no matter what people say. They removed the headgear in amatuer boxing because they wanted to make it more exciting for the olympics.

@@bighands69 and having actually worn these helmets, I would say the help. The spring a little bit and reduce conussive impact. Though you certainly run the risk of allowing yourself to take more hits because of them.

ok, from the creator of Kudo he said it is a cross between, Karate, Judo, Jujitsu and Kick boxing, and MMA is Mixed Martial Arts, so to say this looks like MMA but without, is only somewhat right, to claim mixed martial arts, you must be trained in different martial arts, and to bring the UFC or KO, they are only leagues where different martial arts can fight each other...MMA isn't a style and can't be learnt...

When you refer to MMA what do you mean? Kudo is MMA with a strong Kyokushini base for strikes and Judo or jujitsu for grappling. I think you are thinking of fighting under UFC rules. Kudo has its own rules regarding grappling.

Riehardo You pull out the racism-card when I never even brought up race. (given that you don't consider russians specifically to be a unique race) Learn correct use of the term "racist" before spreading it around, please. Now, I blame the russian crowd for not showing proper sportmanship, especially towards a foreign athlete. If the crowd had a sense of sportmanship, like they should, they would cheer just as loud for the japanese as the russian. Which in my world would be common courtesy. Yes, the japanese may have had a weak supporting presence there, but the russians were holding the event at home and henceforth one would expect a larger russian presence than japanese. Not the japanese's fault that they'd have to pay alot of money just to get there. Why so aggressive btw? Were you personally in the crowd?
