Kubota SVL97 // Loftness Battle Ax. Forestry Customizations

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Forestry mulchers are a great tool for clearing brush, trees, and other woody materials. But they can be rough on the machine that is operating them. There are a few things we can put in place to make operation of the foresty mulchers much smoother including various guards and hydraulic cooling.

Loftness has the best customer service!!! I just bought a used 10 yr old 71” mulcher and had to have the pump pulleys replaced to match my machine’s GPM. They were extremely helpful in helping me learn about the head and how to replace the pulleys

FWIW Neil, it would have been nice for you to link these upgrades to your website. I just spent 10 min's looking and using the search function to no avail. Cheers 🍻

Needs so pro lynx traction bars to finish it off! My question is tho, I have noticed on our 97 and the one you are filming the svl97 sticker is a different orange, what's with that?

The biggest complaint I have heard about these machines is the hydraulic cooling isn't sufficient enough for the work; I do not know if those people making the complaints had this auxiliary cooler installed. That said, I think another neat feature to have on these machines would be for the fans to occasionally auto-reverse to clear all the leaves and debris from the fins of the radiators. I have seen that on various other forestry machines, I think John Deere and Tigercat. Do these machines come with that feature?

This generation does not have a reversing fan. That's coming to the smaller model this year, and I suspect this one for 2024.

Not possible. Hydraulics can't deliver nearly enough horsepower.

Is there any extra protection for the oil cooling unit-looks like it could be vulnerable when a dead limb or tree top breaks out?

Hi Neil - awesome video as always! Can you provide us viewers with a ballpark figure of what that machine is worth (new, of course) with it being equipped as shown? Thank you!

Mulchers can run $30-50k. High flow skid steers are I. The $100k range give or take 10k

I'd have to look to be sure, but as its set up probably $130k.
